But there were some cats who stuck around from start to finish from all walks, it was pretty amazing. I'm pretty sure they weren't there for the thunder, but it was cool to see them enjoying it.

I realized the last few shows I've seen I've become that guy I used to see in the back of the old hardcore shows in the 80s, sorta faded and jaded, not up front or mixing it up but just a part of the scene. I kinda like that I've gracefully become "old head" status without even trying.

I saw his bass player, can't remember the guys name, do a show a while back. Same thing, good to see all walks of life stick around to hear the whole show. Those one man acts can be pretty wicked cool.

Yeah those guys are great. First one I heard was "stand back." Almost thought it was new Sabbath or Ozzy before I looked at the info on pandora.

Homer Simpson video?


General TB seems to still think that active basses with soapbars and scooped mids are what "metal" players want. I think many of them live in a mental universe where nothing happened musically after 1990.

This site as a whole is rather ignorant when it comes to heavy music.

Personally I think there is enough variety in heavy music that there is something for just about anyone, even people who "can't stand that loud noise."

Definitely. There was a recent thread about not "getting metal". Of course, what the guy didn't get was Death Metal. Seemed to be under the impression that all metal sounded like Cannibal Corpse. Lol
