this meme went low-key viral (500+ shares) and it made me laugh

Yup.
I have no interest in note for note covers or taking requests.
The collaborative writing process focused on serving The Riff is my primary goal in music. Seems to be more folks here of that mindset.
I've been in bands with a primary songwriter and have learned a great deal about music theory and arrangements, but it's not a generally very interesting or transcendent experience.

Seems like in this thread people are willing to fly their freak flag musically. Whether it's using heavy old "inefficient" equipment, or a 30min jam that " sounds like Black Sabbath vol. 4. "
Being different is OK here, seems like amongst the majority of TB the hive mind rules. Can't stand the missionary position sort of advice that gets splashed around elsewhere.

Plus, HIGH VOLUME doesn't have to be bad, it also doesn't mean you have no talent or the music sucks.

Love this place.

BTW, @bassboysam good stuff can't wait for the rest of the album.
Thats why I love our coolkid table

I need some advice. I'm looking into a new project and the guitarist tunes pretty low. Drop A# I think? (C standard with lowest dropped a full step.) I've never attempted to tune that low before, and I have no idea what strings to use. I like D'Addario, maybe a 5-string set without the high string? Any input is appreciated. Thx.
That’s what I’m tuned to and what i do. 135 is my lowest string.

my guitarist uses a similar tuning for some songs. honestly i don't bother chasing him. i just stay in standard. my reccomendation is to try that first.

I don't really dig Motorhead.
Shoot me
Hawkwind, well that's something special.
This thread introduced me to "good" Lemmy.
I dig Motorhead, but I absolutely love Hawkwind.

But yeah, the Lemmy thread was very annoying. Whats next? "Please help me get this Geezer Butler guy. Apparently he's a big deal to metalheads." Lol. I mean we had the Steve Harris thread a month or so ago!

David J and Jah Wobble appreciation thread

Haha I love me some David J, but I try to shag with dub at the source and not Jah Wobble lol. My fave white guy reggae bassist though is probably Simonon (especially on "Black Market Clash" their dub album).

Your Teeth in My Neck by Scientist goes REALLY well with Bauhaus, it's actually eerie (best word really) how well Bauhaus can be worked into a dub set. Feel like Goth clubs getting into Witchhouse now (sounds about right, a decade late) is the wrong move. We need Goth/Dub weed lounges in our metropolitan cities and we need them now.
