Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Anybody using a 5 string Jazz tuned to C ?. The precision gets the tone that sets the standard for my bands sound and when I owned a 4 string Jazz I could not get enough "BOOM" from it. Now that Jazz is long gone and I miss the look and feel of it. I might consider a Jazz 5 if I could only find a sound sample of one tuned to C with some dirt. Anyone rollin' that way?.
Heres a 4 string jazz thru a big muff bass deluxe and a pork loin into a gk 800rb and gk neo 4x12. Recorded on my phone so not the clearest. But here ya go

Next question - Anyone here playing a Jackson tuned for Doom?. I like Dave Ellefson's bass tone but I would love to hear it geared for Doom. Thinking of buying another bass so I thought I might come to the lowest of the low for answers. Anyone?.

I was suppose to jam with a few friends tonight but it didn't happen, so I'm feeling nostalgic for my other band, which is currently hibernating. So, I'm feeling nostalgic. While I never thought of us a a true doom band, we'd always end up on "doom of Denver" lists (for which I am grateful). Regardless, this is one of the doomier songs from our second album... I was always really around of the end of this song.

:eek:Damn!, see whats going on here?. Im so used to the thundering of a split coil precision that I couldnt decipher what tuning you were in.o_O
Haha. I usually have the neck pup at 75% and the bridge 100%. Tone knob to taste. I find the extra treble oomph in the bridge helps the muff tremendously. I have a peavey patriot with a super ferrite pup, its kinda p bassish, but that pup is really hot for a passive. Anyway, I generally avoid the muff with the patriot as it gets too mushy

New Clutch out today. first 5 tracks sound like filler, definitely did not grab me right away. On track 6, Barbarella and this one has a lot more energy. the horns are a fun addition. Stay tuned

Never been a big clutch fan. Never could get past his southern preacher vocals. Grew up with southern preaching, makes me feel dirty in a not good way lol.
