just dropping in to say i'm off to see Old Man Gloom tonight... last time i saw them (5? years ago) was amazing.

real shame Caleb Schofield isn't around. i think Stephen Brodsky is filling in on bass, which makes sense i guess, but feels like a bit of a cop out. Brian Cook would have been my choice!

I once spilled coffee into an orange tiny terror. Once everything dried it worked again. Fingers crossed for ya!

Also, we arrived at a band name last night. Funnily enough, it was one of the first names I proposed- kinda forgot about it. It came from a name generator, so yeah still buzzword bingo, but I think its cool AF. I had been pushing for "Fomorian" (feel free to swipe it!)

I started listening to them when their last album came out. I thought "good tech death." Where Owls is a whole different level. I was worried when I heard press about the sax, but they make it work without being cheesy. Personally, I feel like it is a game changer for tech death metal. It is so good on so many levels.

Before and after of my PCB. Best news was the beer was mostly empty when it poured out. I need this amp to work because allegedly my drummer and I are gonna get a more heavy jam based band going towards the end of the month. I also picked up an older Peavey 260 standard a buddy is trying to replace a few components in.

Are you recording by yourselves? I think we'll be ready to release an EP at the end of the year and I'm curious how you people chose to record your stuff (DIY or studio... And for those who went in a studio, if you are under a label and if they helped you with the expenses.. )

Been really getting into Voivod lately. Digging the odd progressive/thrash/whatever thing they have going on, but not yet into the first few albums.

I'd love to see that show. Yob is incredible live and I love Voivod and never have gotten to see them yet. I have Wizard as well Sunn 0))) this week. A good week! And thanks to record store day I have my mitts on the new Sunn 0))) record. Good stuff, less experimental but a more cohesive album than most of their discography.

We decided to record ourselves. Ive kind of inherited an old machine shop from my father and weve cleared out part of the space to do our recording in it. Ive spent the last 6 months or so researching and aquiring as much recording knowledge and equipment i could manage or afford.
We wanted to be able to sit with our music and really dial in to what we wanted it to sound like. If we went to an actual studio we wouldnt be able to really afford to do that and experiment the way we want to. Hence i spent a few grand for microphones and audio interfaces and even an 1176 style compressor.
Even with all that its still a learning experience, but i judging by what we are getting so far i think its going to work out since it can be exactly what we want and not limited by how much studio time we can afford.
