1st bit is palm muting on the neck pup with mids scooped on the circuit, then switched to the bridge pup, then the neck at about 40s (much thicker). It's kinda like a jazzmaster where there's an alternate circuit where it's the neck pup only and different tonal options.
sorry my "studio" is a bit resonant with the low end, don't mistake it though the neck is so damn heavy in the lows.

The way this is recorded it sounds like a baritone at :19........in a good way of course. I'm curious to hear it recorded with a mic closer to the amp![]()
I thought it was a baritone indeed before I read It was the prototype!!The way this is recorded it sounds like a baritone at :19........in a good way of course. I'm curious to hear it recorded with a mic closer to the amp![]()

Sell everything, buy a Ric, a Boss Hyper Fuzz, and a Matamp, spend the rest of the $ on a motorhome with a trailer, and travel with a few other band mates all while bringing the doom to every town across this glorious country.I can lay out $450 for a new blocked inlay neck that should work (it's a 3-bolt bass) or I could part out the hardware, sell the body/case/etc. to try to recoup my dough. I'm not hurting for cash right now, and I have a room full of other basses....what would be the stoner/doomer thing to do?
Ooh, or if you really want to up your doom points, get an EGC aluminum neck for it!

But what about my back??? That stuff's too heavy! Plus the band will probably kick me off the bus for wearing my fedora, crocs and Hawaiian shirt.

Or Robert Graves Industries... I'm not sure EGC are doing anything other than full builds these days...
