Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Is that a 6x12 second from the right in the back?

no idea. i have trouble finding much info on a lot of the old orange gear from the 70s. i saw a guy mention today that orange actually made a 2x18 cab back in the day and my ears perked up big time. emailed him to ask what the deal was as i cannot find any info at all on it. here is the catalog for a lot of that gear:

The folded horns are interesting. I have Klipsch La Scala at the house. One of the down sides is low end stops at around 40hz. Once I get some things settled, planning to build some risers that help extend the speaker cab volumn. This will allow the speaker to open up a little more on the low end of the spectrum.

I would really like to see some more detailed plans on these Orange reflecting designs and see if they have the same issues built in.

Mini rig of doom in progress. Relearning with the VT-RM and what dirt works with this combo.

Sleep is playing in Chicago in August. Now that is one reason I'd actually venture to chitown. The only way I'm not seeing this show is either death or it sells out in seconds.
im a procrastinator and now its sold out and ticketmaster wont let me buy Kids in the Hall tickets either, im bummed.
its great that both Sleep and KITH are using the same type of promo photo for their shows

Need to tune my Ibanez Jazz bass to BEAD to play with my guitarist's baritone. String suggestions? Thinking of just getting some D'Addario XL Nickels.
I just use the bottom three strings of a .100 gauge XL nickel set, plus a .130 low B, the same one that they put in the five string version of that set.

its a and justice for all kinda day. no bounce there
Shame about the production. I prefer the youtube version of that album. Selling my CD of it.

Indeed. Sucks.

Yeah, it was in Turlock. They weren't running the AC either, which was criminal to me. I spent 90% of the time in the back yard, which was the same temperature as inside but at least the air moved slightly. It only gets 80F a couple weeks a year combined here usually, so it's not worth having AC. If I lived in the central valley though, I'd revise the budget and make it work. If it was that hot and someone was keeping me from turning the AC off, divorce would be the nicest possible outcome.
Yeah, coastal northern CA, AC really isn't necessary. But in the valley? Ugh.

...that's $50.00 CASH.

When I was trying to sell my Concert Slave I listed it at a good price and made sure to put "FIRM" on the ad. First and only response I got was "What's the absolute lowest that you'll go?"

"IT SAYS FIRM *******."
I hate that poopie.

Especially the bizarre assumption that a lowball offer in cash will somehow impress me more. Like the same amount of money in cash is somehow magical.

i dont even know what half of this is, but its so goddamn awesome

Mostly PA stuff, it looks like.

What is that huge head with what appears to be a single knob, I wonder? Some sort of poweramp, I assume, but for what?
