You know, I love HM-2 and all, but what’s with all the cloning of the tone stack lately? Seems odd to me, even knowing that the tone stack is often the defining characteristic of the “chainsaw” sound.
Because suddenly it's cool again? The thing is, the Swedish chainsaw setting sounds like absolute ass, I don't really understand it's appeal at all.
I keep mine dialed in around like what Godflesh's bassist used (or, as I will now refer to it, "the Birmingham Bludgeon" sound), which gives it a little more extreme end and this excellent little snarl at the end. Honesty, anywhere along the dials sounds better than 10's across the board.
So... I got a new hobby for the next few months
I've been spending my summer learning how to use my 3d printer. Not as cool as a motorcycle, but at least I can crap out my own upgrades and not get greasy installing them.
