I had a 12-Step. It was well built and really light, but had a hard time with the feel of the pedals. They felt really really gummy and squishy. I also would have preferred if I could just plug and play instead of using that blue breakout power/midi box. I traded someone for regular organ style midi foot controller. If I were touring (especially on a plane), maybe I'd reconsider.

Yeah that's how I remember both the Om and Sleep shows I've caught. Why have a signature model it you aren't gonna use it
Mine was really cool while I had it. I eventually got tired of hauling a synth and break out box or the extra stress of playing with a computer and software for sounds. My guitarist was super bummed when I decided to sell it the second time.
I was messing around and recorded a couple clips for the hell of it. I know my playing sucks and the riff (if it can even be called that) is nothing special. I'm mostly interested in feedback on the tonez. Let me know what you think if you have a couple minutes.
Didn't like the first one, but the second is nice, what are you using?
Only the Line6 HX Effects at the moment (then the DI out from my GK MB Fusion 800). I'd love to hear your thoughts about what you didn't care for in the first one.
^ this. Though it could be kind of cool with an octave effect and getting into the weird synthy distorted sort of thing...
Though depending on who you're playing with and what the mix is like, sometimes a slightly thinner tone supports the song better
The dunlops are definitely only going to work on 30" scale given where the silks start.
I forgot how much I love that stupid little Epi EB-0. It does have a lot of fret buzz. It really needs a fret level. There's a bad high fret up the neck. It's very usable in C std. I forgot how much I like playing a shortscale - it had been sitting there with no strings for probably a year. Lol
I'd take it to practice tonight, but I want to dial in the Mithrandir with my gigging P bass so it can be ready to kill saturday night. Next week I'll throw it in the car.
If I can get that neck humbucker to play nice I'd consider an old gibbo version at some point. The market for 67-71 ones are pretty variable, but I've seen solid ones for as low as $850. Or just investing the time (or money) to level the frets on the Epi.
On a totally different note, I got this track to a point where I'm liking it enough to share. I still have stuff i want to work on it with the bassline some more but the tone fits well, and its friggen heavy af. Getting the vocals dialed in is the next challenge. I need to figure out and track mine and then get our vocalist tracked down so we can do his stuff.

It sounds like a pretty workable tone, but feels pretty bottom heavy so it'd take some messing around to see how it works with a band situation. Generally I've found that i roll the bass off a lot when i'm playing with folks as it helps get less muddy and it tightness up the low end definition.

The guitarist not wanting to solo is really a problem. The bass solo going for that long with notes that low was kinda awkward to me, but if you went higher the lack of low end could be worse. Maybe an octave pedal would fix or at least make it better
haha, yeah. My intent is less of a solo but more to sort of build on the melody there but its still a sort of awkward part. I'm I'm in 3-5th position there as well, so I don't know if going way high up the neck is going to help or make it bluaaaahhhhhhhhhhhgh. Sure I can do some tapping stuff there or sweep pluck/strum, or other totally even more obnoxious frettless muwaaaaahhhhh filled wackiness but it doesn't fit there much imo ;P
I'm gonna be poking him with a cattle prod to try to get something more like a solo or melodic or something in that part, otherwise I'm hitting more effects.

Totally with yah. I'm hoping when we go and re-track the guitar and drums shortly, we change that whole section for a shorter bass fill/solo/whatever and get a proper guitar solo in as the song just screams for one there.
