Woah that is weird about Cat King, bummer. Never tried one myself.

Speaking of having a balanced volume knob, I should grab a picture of my acapulco gold. Damn thing is probably at 0.5 for unity! I mean it does sound awesome cranked, but I don't know if I could use that for a whole song. Hmmm

My Cat Tail does have volume control for the two distrotions, FWIW. I think that's among the add-on options.

After years of fighting it, I've decided I really like fuzz. I know, preaching to the choir here. It's always been my hardest dirt to dial in, but man, I'm really digging it lately. Got a Swollen Pickle a few weeks ago that against all odds is holding up incredibly well against my Pharaoh Supreme. That has prompted me to get a Russian Pickle, which will hopefully be here this week sometime, though I know shipping times are all crazy right now. The strings to "Stormtrooper" my guitar to match my bass have been in shipping limbo for two weeks. I will post pics once I finally string it up, because that matching guitar/bass combo will look fantastic!

In other news, I've been enjoying the holidays re-playing old school Xbox games. Currently loving the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series which I haven't played in a decade or so. Such good games.

For me fuzz is what I am most picky about as well. It is the hardest effect to dial in just right imo. And also the most finicky from amp to amp and bass to bass. I'll get it dialed in and be happy, then the next day the same setup will sound bad to me. Sometimes I just have to walk away from it and give it a break.

My favorite fuzz to date is the BAT Black Sheep. It tracks the best has a good aggressive vroom type tone, but severely lacks low end. I run it through my DA Loop Blender and it helps but I wish I could just get a good builder to build me a custom with good tight lows or a built in parallel clean blend. Theres my fuzz rant.

No judgment here dude. That's an amazing opportunity that I would have jumped on as well. I comb my local ads and there's never anything like that. Hell I drove 130 miles just today for a 212 Peavey cabinet lol.

Never heard anyone mention that one. I have found that the more tweakable the fuzz is, the more apt I am to like it. Both my favorites, the Pharaoh Supreme and Swollen Pickle, have plenty of knobs to tweak. Still don't know what exactly it is I'm looking for in a fuzz, but I seem to gravitate towards muffs.

I absolutely get the fuzz sensitivity. I had a megalith for a few years, loved it then one day or just sounded waay too fizzy so started clean blending then wandered off and explored other options a result.

I've just had a Barefaced machinist arrive. Parralel pedal stacking distortion, fuzz and a clean channel. Not sure if it'll knock the wizard off the board tbh.
It's Muff based on the fuzz side and seems pretty tweakable. May be a tad polite. Need to hear it in a band setting which is a while off yet still here in the UK

Did a little dialing in of the latest bass, and am happy with the t0anz. Due to the C-19, my occasional jam band is on long-term hiatus, so I find myself just mindlessly noodling on it while watching foreign movies, since I can read the subtitles. Good to build the callouses back up, I suppose.

As PSA, the Korean horror series "Sweet Home" on Netflix is great.

I never really had an interest in Dark Glass stuff at all and for the most part I like simple vintage style gear but the newest versions of their heads have a TON of features that would be useful. DI w/ 3 different cab sim options, USB interface, headphone out, Aux in, compression, clean channel plus two different drive channels. Right now my only head is a Ampeg V4B. This could take the place a lot of different tools.
