I've been to In-n-out a few times and I've gotta say that I found their burgers underwhelming. The price was good though; although I was dealing with Texas prices and not Cali.

But same... I've been lusting for a Whata Mushroom swiss all day just because of this thread

Was gonna get a chance to Jam this weekend. But with how close to the due date and being an hour away put the Kabash on that...so bummed out. Though I think it's more that my lady is all upset over covid and whatnot. Man, we were gonna be able to crank it up!

Never been to a Whataburger. Sounds awesome! Late night food runs normally entailed Rallys for me. Or A&W, love that place.

I think it may be (some type of) an auto-cycling wah in front of a phaser. I haven't even begun to look at the board other than to look at the message printed on it. But when when the guitar is direct into it and I set the rate and the width right, it sure sounds like someone cranking a wah back and forth in front of a phaser. Either way, half the mystery of these things is figuring out what exactly Matt sent you this time. Whataphaser seems kind of clear for the series, but then again he could be misleading us. :) The old one-off mystery effects (and several of the old monthly series) didn't even label the knobs, after all. I've got one of the last of the one-offs, and It's a delay just labeled with question marks everywhere (seriously, it's name is "???????"). So, a name goes a long way. No matter what the first stage works out to electronically, at least I know it's a phaser. :roflmao:



*Just like Whataburger, it may take forever to get it, but they made it for **you**. My sister would roll two joints for one trip through their drive through when I was in high school. We'd light them when we got in line, and they'd only be a memory by the time we paid. Worth. every. minute. - and we'd be perfectly prepared for absolute deliciousness. I had a jalapeno cheeseburger from there yesterday. Oh, if I had only really understood the beauty of onion rings in my youth. All the wasted years...

Yeah I'm not quite sure, the gaps in whatever is cycling becomes more pronounced with some settings and seems to jump back in at a different frequency point. That's kinda why my initial thoughts were a S&H of some sort or a phaser that has pronounced steps. A filtering effect of some kind for sure, wouldn't be surprised if its a cycling wah. I think I was running some dirt and tried fuzz in front too, maybe thats why I heard a more pronounced filter effect.

Either way, you're totally right. A damn good phaser that can do subtle or wild. To me the amount it adds to a totally clean signal is an immense achievement and being able to juice up the output is icing on the cake.

Me neither. One near me closed along time ago. I grew up eating at one in the 70s that was a drive in with the car hoppers on roller skates.

I was just coming back from the smokey mountains a few weeks back and saw an a&w drive in in some town on 411. Im going to have to ride my bike up there and get a chili dog and root beer float.

Edit: looked it up and that drive in a&w is in Madisonville, tn if anyone cares.

Back when I was still eating meat I tried In-N-Out on a trip to Vegas. I thought it was fine but not deserving all the hype. Fast forward to the first In-N-Out opening in Colorado recently and people were waiting more than 8 hours in line for it! It's not THAT good.

In order to balance things out a bit, while simultaneously being THAT GUY, I'll mention that there's a good vegan burger place in Colorado called Meta Burger. I don't know if they have locations outside Colorado. Anyway, it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

On the musical front, I feel like I have a better idea of what I want to do. This is nice because now I have a specific direction I can work towards. For the moment I'm not in a big rush to make an actual band...I want to get some stuff written first and work on my sound. For now, at least, I've got Superior Drummer 3 so I can make drum tracks with that. Also the guitar player from the semi-band I was with (that pretty much fizzled out) is a good dude and we're still in touch so I'm hopeful that he'll get on board with what I have in mind.

Wish there was a whataburger around me in Georgia. I had never heard of whataburger. Then I went to a GWAR concert about 10-15 years ago in Jackson, MS. After the show I was hungry and saw a whataburger. said what the heck, this town is dead and its open. Lifechanging.

I later in life managed a team out of San Antonio and would get whataburger quite frequently. better than in and out imho. so damn good.
