Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

So @br1qbat are y'all planning on playing the older stuff that you played with a guitar player or is it gonna be completely new? And the band name too, are y'all sticking with Solar Monolith?
Keeping the name. The name was my suggestion and we both still like it. Keeping the songs I wrote. So about half the stuff we had. I wrote the words to just about everything, but the guitarist did write about half the setlist music-wise.

Still, there's enough to fill a set and I already have some new ideas cooking. I did tweak some of my songs to work better with no guitar. And I keep working on not sucking at singing. Lol. We are open to adding a guitarist, but we want to keep moving and get back in front of people again.

Also also, we are jamming for the first time in like 4 months on Sunday. I cleaned out my garage and we are going to set up shop there...

There's just something about stained wood that looks damn good! Sick rig, let me know if you ever wanna move one of the Peavey's.

Are both those cabs 412's or is the GK at 215? the Black cab almost looks like it's got 12's and 10's, but maybe the lighting. Bad ass either way though!

I was jamming with a guitar player that has a real deal jcm 800 not too long ago. His tone was absolutely glorious

Don't know what it is, because I've heard sick tones from just about any kinda amp, but there is something about the big iron. Even SS heads with the big iron have that heft. Or maybe it's just good amp designs have it?

Yrah, I may let one of the Peaveys go one of these days. Both cabs are 4x12s.

Is the one on the left a Peavey cab?
Yeah, it should have the silver stripes and logo, but those were long gone by the time I bought it at a pawn shop. It would have been the pairing cab for the peavey heads I have, as far as I know.

Back then, most Peaveys were 4 ohm/2 ohm, so most of those old peavey cabs are 4 ohm.
It is a guitar cab, so its only rated at 100w. Fine for that side of the signal as I don't send much lows to it, the quilter/gk side takes care of that.

I think GK's 410 in the same 'neo' line is 4 ohms, all the other cabs in the line are 8 I think.
