Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

whilst perusing the local CL last night, I came across an ad for 2 guys looking to rent a jam room. It's the same guys I jammed with a few weeks ago. Wonder if this means I'm persona non grata. I'll text them to remind them I'm still out here.

You'd be shocked by how many people have zero clue how to move heavy things without injuring themselves. I routinely deliver large doors off the back of a flatbed truck with an A-frame type rack and I pretty much never lift anything. I just balance and pivot, construction guys routinely ignore my advice and get 4+ guys to move huge doors flat, struggling and hurting themselves. Every once in a while we get people who are willing to listen and are surprised by how easy it is to move things when you use your brain, instead of your back. I've got the same thing about cabs forever too. People running up to me asking if I need help moving an 810 or something. Nope, don't need help, because I'm not going kill myself trying to lift it. I just lean it onto the tailgate of my truck and tip it up.

It's not specialize knowledge, most people just don't stop and think before they do things. I've had people yell at me for standing around wasting time, while looking at something big that needed to be moved and thinking about easiest way to do it. Some people just think getting hurt is a sign of hard work, I guess. I want to be able to go into work the next day without being doped to the gills on pain killers, so I don't get it.

I practice DOOMerize with proper lift techniques always.

Garage rock. Wasn't too bad getting out of the back of the wagon.

Peeled the black tape off the metal stripes. Just need to pick up a new Peavey logo to slap on the front. EDIT: got a read on a logo for sale on Reverb. Need the seller to confirm the distance b/w the screw holes to make sure it'll fit.

id like your impressions of the stock speakers. the one i had either had damaged speakers, or the speakers just sucked ass cause my SVT was destroying them badly. any sort of attack or intensity put into those speakers had them farting all over the place badly.

I used to have a Peavey MKIII and 1820 rig (1810 actually, don't know what the change was when they changed the name) and as soon as I started using tube heads the cab turned into a box of farts.
