The prices for new vinyl have gotten stupidly high. Remember when a new pressing of vinyl was the price, if not cheaper than the CD?
I collect vinyl but it's mostly classic rock, classic country, metal and obscure heavy and psych stuff from the sixties and seventies. I'll rarely pay more than ten bucks for a record. As much as I'd like to buy current vinyl, it's hard to justify the cost.
Good, grounded, normal, you can only choose two for a "lead singer".
This is why I started doing vocals. Even though I am never happy with how I sound. Also, this:
Guys.... Can we back up a few months and talk about how good this is again?
There are a lot fewer pressing plants these days and a lot less vinyl being pressed than the 60s, 70s and 80s so the cost of production has gone up.
Sure, as long as you stop calling it "Frisco." That's a town in Texas.Would love to get my group on the list with any of you guys playing in the bay area...
Eh, I'm used to it being a bit more expensive than the CDs. My band's is $16 right now for preorder, but will go up a bit.The prices for new vinyl have gotten stupidly high. Remember when a new pressing of vinyl was the price, if not cheaper than the CD?

ric-o-sound via y cable -> rick o sound mute box with tuner out (into korg pitchblack) -> stereo volume pedal
split as per below..
neck pickup -> Boss CS-2 -> "Doom DI" (into PA) -> bluebeard -> hotcake -> Boss RE-20 channel A -> custom preamp based on Matamp GT200 (with mid shift mod like Sam's head) -> 200w tube slave -> Sunn 200S 215
bridge pickup -> VFE Mini-Mu -> DS1 -> DOD 250 -> Boss RE-20 channel B -> custom preamp based on OR120 -> 100w tube slave -> clone of a Matamp 412
i'll be able to power each side separately with a CIOKS ADAM power supply, two daisy chains, and two isolated outlets for the DI and the RE-20.
currently waiting on the preamp build, the PT-2 itself, the doom DI and a good deal on the RE-20.
yikes.

If you go back and listen to earlier bongripper records vs our latest material it's like a night and day difference. I mean we've always done heavy, but the means as to which we write songs have progressed and changed a lot over the years. I played my wife a song off Hippie Killer and she didn't believe that it was my band (Charlie, Burt Reynolds has got **** on you).

Yeah, yeah....which is named after the original.Sure, as long as you stop calling it "Frisco." That's a town in Texas.
I'd wager that the increase in price also has a lot to do with the resurgence in popularity of vinyl. Labels, independents and even bands are cashing in on the rise in popularity and taking advantage of the fact morons like me would willingly pay $40 a pop for a wax discThere are a lot fewer pressing plants these days and a lot less vinyl being pressed than the 60s, 70s and 80s so the cost of production has gone up.
Sure. But the term is a poopy slang Angelino term for the city.Yeah, yeah....which is named after the original.![]()

Boss OC-2 used in my local GC. Any of you like it?
So, uh what do you call it? When you don't want to use 4 syllables.Sure. But the term is a ****** slang Angelino term for the city.
You seem to think I'm kidding. I'm really not.
