New full wall of peavey pic tomorrow night. I'm also gonna open it up and see what speakers are in it.




And the mastered tracks are perfect, I wouldnt change a thing, its ready for plastic and wax. My drummer has the very picky ear though, well see if he likes them.

Do you not want a 4x12 after all, or just wish you had the funds still? Also how much was one of those up there?

And glad your albums treating you so well... Hunger is the best sauce, and it sounds like it'll be delicious.

No I just don't really have a specific use for it and space is starting to get a but tight in the space, not to mention I traded in a 412 the same day...it was more of a it says peavey so I must buy it and add to the wall buy. Got it for $120, these normally go for $150-250, so it was a pretty good price.

When it comes to a rat the lm308 is the "rat" sound, but are the variants and clones without it the same sound basically but just not quite "it"?

And I had an OC-3 kinda want one again, to those who go oc-2 why?

I mainly used the oc-3 during a period of almost only playing guitar and I dug the tone of half up blend and half up octave 1 and the dirt mixed in. I dig the cult of dano, but I really want to make a board with an oc or other octave variant, black big muff, fx25 or bass synth wah, and a phaser.

You know how it is. Some rats don't even cop the '"rat" tone. Mine doesn't have exact components, but yes on lm308.

So, yes. The lm chip is what makes it, IMO. I'll bet a rat tail slays since Ryan tailored everything to be beast on bass. In contrast, I can't dial the fizz out of turbo mode.

My Rat had the OP07 chip when i got it - still sounded very much like a Rat. I swapped it for the LM308, there's a difference, i think it sounds a little better, but it's not a night and day improvement.

It's a Rat2, but made in the USA, with the more robust pcb and pots. Caps and diodes can make a big difference in the sound as well. I think the new Chinese ones probably benefit more from the chip swap, as they're built with cheap components.

Sold my dining room table so I could turn my dining room into a jam space. Also the $300 was nice.

My Rat King is on the way to Ryan to be repaired. I'm fuzzless. I guess I'll be gettin my clean on for a while. Maybe I'll pick up something to use in the meantime. Pretty much all that is available around here is Boss. Anybody have a Boss OD or D pedal they like on bass?

I'm a big fan of the ODB3, lots of people hate it but that's ok, just means its cheaper for me.

I like (the other) joe play both guitar and bass (though not nearly as his level probably) so if a pedal can cop tones for both awesome.

Practiced again tonight through the ipad over the PA. All this talk of dirt makes me want my full rig at practice again. Possibly I'll dick around with the 400RB and one 2x10 next week. Just so I can bust out some dirt with the ATK.
Bass did well today still fighting one tuner ferrule to seat 100%. Will fix that this weekend.
Glue! I need Glue!
