Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Not doom related at all but I saw City & Colour last night at the Sydney Opera House. Full acoustic (and piano) set with just Dallas Green before the band's appearance at the Splendour in the Grass festival tomorrow. Really powerful set. Dude's got some amazing lungs and vocal range. He's not too shabby on guitar either. Kinda glad he stuck with predominantly very early material over the newer songs even though the newer songs are just as great. Made the experience feel so much more intimate. Played a song he's never performed live before as well as a cover of Pink's "Try" and a piano arrangement of an old Alexisonfire (his old band) song. Dude's got some of the maddest on-stage chat too. TENOUDDATEN
Tomorrow night I'm catching Pelican too. Really can't wait for that show. I've missed them every time they've come down so I'm looking forward to getting my post-metal dancing boots on.

Yup I'm a fan of ikea stuff, and those goat/Sheep skins are soft as poopie. They also sell a fake version that's lame and artificial feeling.
It's just funny listening to someone talk about never wanting harm to come to an animal while you're all sitting on the fluffy remnants of a small herd.

I'm gonna actually start playing some stoner/doom in a band setting and need a fuzz pedal. No worries, I've listened to damn near every youtube/manufacturers soundclips and keep on coming back to the Fuzzrocious Grey Stache.
So, here's the question: which options am I actually gonna use?
Their sale ends Saturday so I need to jump on this right quick.

I don't think i could ever go back to running just a single rig after putting together my dual firebass rig. It is entirely too badass.

Do you like muff? Have you played with one before? Any type? Do you like the response? Jeez I can't win.
Do you like od that can get pretty mean for an always on pedal? Demon.

Have you run some boost through the V4? Do you crank that V4 all the way up live? Are you not confident in the V4 with a big cab? What's wrong with the 2x15? What 2x15?
Are you playing with 2 guitarists or 1? Do they have half or full stacks? What gear are they using? Tuning? Your local clubs hook it up with PA?
I'm just wondering if you need to buy or not if you're not sure of what's going on. Either way I think OD should be sufficient. But that's me. Every muff I buy is cool for 5min by myself. I'm sure these guys who play out more can be of much more help.
I think my 8x10 is punchy and fun for something heavy and more upbeat. But I crave the 2x15. So many equations are personal preference. I guess it would help more if you/we know what really needs to be accomplished. I can tell you a v4 on top a 2x15 and an whatever else on top an 8x10 everything cranked will be the way to go

Not cheap, well I think I got mine for $80 or $90 but they are like $120 now. The Quik Lok 7 slot. Holds, acoustics, electrics, and basses. And you can even put two electrics, basses in one section back to back so it can actually hold 14 electrics. My buddy has a huge collection and uses them doubled up. Nice and durable.

Was playing my Hondo II pro yesterday (My love-hate bass) it occurred to me to try a shorter strap length, hold it guitar-style horizontal.
Big difference in comfort level. A bunch less discomfort.
Guess I need to get it a strap where that'll be comfy and stop using my old nylons from the 90s.
