Just ordered an EHX Freeze to try out in my black metal band. Slightly concerned about the amount of time and money I put into getting the drone/noise sections "just right", when they make up such a tiny percentage of our material.

Gratuitous pedalboard shot attached, although I've since swapped out the Small Stone for a Swollen Pickle so that I can fuzz-up the oscillations from the delay. Not sure how usable that is in the band mix though.

Really missing playing in a doom band - I haven't had many opportunities to play big, fuzzed-out riffs since my last band went belly up earlier this year. Been taking bass lessons for the first time, so between that and writing for the next black metal album, I'm not sure I have the time... Anyone need a full-time, well-paid pedal tester?

i use my freeze at the end of songs or in between them. if you strike a low note just right you can get some really cool sounds from the note sustaining out. definitely an atmospheric sub frequency thing goes on if you hit it right. and theres a lot of control with it as well.

Played a gig last night. I had low expectations most of the day because it was a Monday show and I'm pretty busy this week at work, home, etc. Then we show up and there's a crowd! All worked out in the end. We rocked a decent crowd at a tiny bar and had a blast. It's funny how you can promote a weekend show sometimes and have a flop then roll out to a weeknight show with nothing into it and, bam, there're the people.

Weeknight shows = murder the next day, though. Ugh, coffee.

How do you like it?

The DI is really nice, I use the AGS but I set it to stay pretty clean, just using it for the "speaker sim". It's my backup in case i run into a sound guy that doesn't want to mic. The TH500 is a cool little amp. Like the pedal i don't like the way it distorts but for clean to barely dirty tones it is nice. It is not as sweet as the Meas Walkabout but as a backup amp it is more convenient. the WA is a little bulkier and heavier. the TH500 can just go into my gig back with my cables. The EQ is exacly the same as the TH DI but you get a little more control with both a gain and drive knob.

In re: pedal use & collecting, I view pedals kinda like different colors of markers. I'd get sick of drawing with just a black or blue pen all the time, I want to change up the color now and then.

Speaking of coffee, we just got a keurig at work! Of course they are trying to impress the software companies that are bidding for an upcoming project and have it set up in the conference room this week. So now I have to wait till a break or they take lunch break for my second cup, bastards. I almost want to be in that meeting to have more coffee lol. No I don't, I will got old school with my usual ghetto maker in the kitchen!

Si, though it's just like any interest group. New product gets buzz or old product is rediscovered and gets buzz and people flock to it, discuss it, etc. Then a new or old product is found/rediscovered and the process begins again.

For me sweet potato frys are too sweet, not savory. So garlic doesnt seem like it would work.

Forgot to add, we were set up last night in a tiny corner space. Walls on three sides, cement floor, sounded like a roaring tin can. Sounded like poopie back there, but out front it was oddly halfway decent.
