Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I decided to do a...call it a "social experiment" with askrere.
After all the brouhaha from the Bassic 15 cab, I decided to write it off as a sunk cost and make nice with him, offering the cab for free to see what the response would be. My predictions ran the gamut between offering me some $$ for the cab to simply being appreciative and just taking it. We met, and he did indeed simply take the cab. I gave it a few days in case he decided to belatedly make any effort to reach out to me; no contact, so I decided to PM him earlier.

"Hey,

Hope you are enjoying the cab. I'm thinking you still had some anger issues Saturday by making me carry the cabinet to you and not saying "thanks" for the $700 cab. (Unless your offer of buying me some beef jerky was that. I may have missed the moment.)"

He didn't even say thanks. This exceeded even my assumptions of how greedy and entitled someone could be with another Talkbass member...and he blew off my PM. Dude, all you had to do was say thanks. That's it. How freaking hard is that?

Since I've been a TB member, I've donated another $700 cab to a church via Brad Johnson and I've given a set of SDG pickups to someone on the waiting list so they could end their frustration - (I don't think they would get the pickups any other way at this point.) I thought I was helping someone out that wanted to get into having a Greenboy Cab. I was way off. You have no redeemable qualities, man. None. I fully expect that you will simply sell the cab in 6 months. Whatever.

And Sartori - you two deserve each other.

/end social experiment

Awkward ^^

So Ryan just posted my pedal on Facebook.

You wont be playing loud now with a guitarist with no amp now are you...Sorry had to man. But that does suck, hopefully he can scrap together some scratch fast. Has he ever thought about prostitution or organ donation?
Heh, probably. I hope he finds another way to get the money together. Seems to mainly be an issue of the insurance company not being willing to give enough money to get an adequate replacement vehicle.

Dude that sucks. I know allot of people who do this kind of thing it really breaks some of them.
Good luck man.
Yeah. Hopefully he won't have to sell it. It's not huge, and not vintage, but it sounds good and I don't want him to sell it. At least not unless he's doing so to get something that sounds even better.

I mean, it shouldn't slow the band down, as I've let him know he can use my guitar rig for Catapult if he does have to sell it.
