Well ya have to ask yourself "will I dial the hi-tone to sound like my 2000s?" Reason i say that is last night at stoner practice my guitarist says? "that sounds like a SVT" and I replied "kinda" cause in the end your dialing it to your ears.

So does this mean the honeymoon is over for the Univox?

i'm guilty of this. i've been trying to be more aware. Sometimes it seems to not matter which bass, amp, cab or pedals I use...it all ends up sounding the same.

So I recently heard that Conrad Sundholm, with his Conrad amps, is going to start selling recreations of the 2000s called the 2000x. He's already made a few 1st gen Model Ts (Model Cs now), and I've seen pictures, but there's nothing yet on his site about any of this. This just makes life way harder, cause like, do I keep saving for the Hi-Tone, or start saving for a recreation of the amp I already love made by the same guy that first made them? Plus I already know Conrad (he's serviced my old 2000s a few years back and signed the chassis), and I just love Sunn and eughheuughughuehguhuehfuizgdfiosanegoifac...

He's in Portland or thereabouts, right?

Once people in the local doom scene hear about them, those things will be selling like hotcakes.

I kinda want one. Except with the 1200S midboost instead of the bassboost. So I guess I want a 1200S head.

I figure if I get a boutique head, though, it'll probably be something concocted by Dunwich that incorporates various stupid ideas of mine.

Probably, because I know what I'm looking for with regards to my tone. So if probably dial in a similar tone, just keeping the Hitone clean louder while driving the 2000s into breakup, kind of a best of both worlds thing.

Yeah, he's in Tualatin. It's pretty cool if he starts making one, especially knowing there is then a direct replacement/backup should mine ever experience problems. I'd like one with verb and trem, so like the 1200s without the mid boost, hahaha

Gotcha. I'm guilty of same-y sounding on different amps at times.
Seems to be a gradually drift with me. I'll get a new amp and the first few weeks I find new and different stuff the old one didn't do. Seems like not too long after that the sound becomes homogenized. The IOD has really escaped that so far probably cause in using it different each time I plug in.

bought a bike chain and a link puller, but my TC pedals and some other pedals use really strange screws and are inset so far into the pedal that it just wouldn't be practical to go through and source longer screws individually to make it work. Not to mention I change things around all the time and would need to make a full on grid to affix everything to with holding screws on the underside. Maybe someday, but for now, it's velcro for me :/

I have this idea of a box home made/suitcase/rondo pedal box. Then inside mounting a wooden board in two parts. The first part holds power stuff that won't ever come off. Then swap out little boards into the case. My dano setup, or the ABY with synthy loop, fuzz and phaser stereo board I'm concocting.

my guitarist is planning out an EGC. baritone 9 string (pike style) king buzzo, distressed aluminium w/ black anodize fretboard. if that combination is even possible, it's gonna be $$$, but so worth it. i am incredibly excited. i hope he doesn't stop doing custom work before the order!

First normal show tonight since the whole hiatus thing went down. So ready to be back on stage. It's in a tiny dive...we'll probably play way too loud for the room haha. Im also thinking I'm going to have to take two trips of cabs with my wagon, because I don't trust the van anymore since blowing out at tire going 75mph.

I'd like to see a pic of the giant rig in a tiny venue. I've got another gig soon at that place I played this past Monday night; I'm going to bring both 410s next time instead of just one. Too hard to load the 3620 solo, though.
