That Hondo is sweet looking. I've been looking for a double cutaway bass body with more of a Les Paul Junior vibe, may have to just get one made.

I think I might go for a mahogany jazz bass body myself.

Really contemplating some Seymour Duncan NYC4 pickups to put into the Spector- finally soapbars with actual pole pieces you can see! 
Only thing is that they're humbucking, which means they can be wired as single coils, series, or parallel. Do I choose only two configurations and add push pulls, drill out the top and add three way toggle switches, wire it one way, or try and build some slider switches onto the control cavity cover to avoid drilling into it??

Best show I saw Sabbath at was Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell (the Dio lineup... and I don't care what you say, I've seen Sabbath with Ozzy, too, and the Dio lineup was way better live), Motorhead, and Testament.

My research so far just suggests this was an earlier model and wasn't expected to be permanent hence special edition?
I think CIJs are newer, and represent "production", versus limited runs from Fender Japan. My jazz (in avatar) is an 84 MIJ, and its one of the best basses I've ever touched.
You staying active? If passive, how about volume, volume, tone, and a three way switch in the fourth hole? Or volume, pickup blend or pickup selector switch, tone, and three way split. The heck with tone and go with two three way swtiches for each pickup. Lol to the ladies comment. I'm actually staying active and considering an Audere 4-band preamp. How's that for a wrench?
I think I may want a 3-way switch for each pickup... probably that or I'll have two push/pull knobs and I'll have to get rid of either the single coil or parallel sounds.
Why can't they just have switches build onto the sides of the pickups? xD
This the thing I don't get with modern day classic rock. If there are so many great bands continuing what sabbath, zep, acdc, deep purple laid down before us, why isn't there more crossover, of classic rock stations finding great stoner/doom/retro sounding rock and mixing them in with the old. Or have a new music block like once a week. Because I'm sure there are plenty of bands an older person who grew worshipping sabbath would love but doesn't know about because he for whatever reason stopped looking for new stuff. That and there really isnt a way those 99% people can find this stuff without looking for it themselves. Sure playing sabbath all day makes the station money but I feel they can make just as much money with a newer band that plays what sabbath made. There's no one really mainstream capitalizing on this like I think they could.
Is classic rock so timeless nothing retro rock/Stoner/DOOM can top it or at least sit right next to it? I mean I'm hearing bigger 90s bands like nirvana on those stations now.
