I feel ya Ron. I got a blazing migraine and I have to hold down the IT help desk phone because everyone took off for the long weekend. And I'm not even IT, I am GIS LOL. Have you tried turning it on and off yet will be my catch phrase today or GIMF.
I know you are the delay guy, have you ever messed with the Akai Headrush? Been curious to try one since I watched a video of Brian Cook talking one up.

I had a headrush for a minute, I've always viewed them as a looper #1 and delay #2. Those and the DL-4 are probably 2 of the most revered looping pedals out there, didn't mess with the actual delay too much when I had the one I did, but I know it can do quadraphonic output, so that's actually really awesome. Although I don't know anyone who's actually split their signal to 4 different amps.

I think Al may have bought that at CME yesterday, My friend who run's their bass dept mentioned that Al "had a new toy" at the show, but I couldn't make out the pic, I know they had one of the walnut Ric's in stock...could be what he picked up.

There is a video where Just Nick separates them to the four signals. I think I am a little curious to see if it is easier to use than my Digitech XT Express looper, which is pretty easy, but I always jack up the loops and never get them just right, just need more practice with a looper I guess. The bonus would be the simulated tape machine delays but that also looks like too many buttons on one pedal for me LOL.

Oh trust me there have plenty of mistakes. I trashed the stock cylinders on the KZ on my first attempt to tear down. I didn't take all the head bolts out and started prying... DOH!

The KZ is a labor of love. I take my time with it. For sure have registered many years that it just sat waiting for me to do something.

Now with focus back in playing music I have another distraction that I love. It can wait till I'm ready.

Kinda nice not being in a drunken stupor these days, finally figured out what my issue was... Hence Divorce.

I think I am just in denial. I had bikes my whole life but after I sold my Harley Sportster and my Suzi DR650 I felt I needed to have something. So a guy in the Army wrenched his arm and sold me his Ninja 500 for $400 with gunked up carbs. That was two or three summers back LOL. I got it running, but then tore it down to clean the carbs good and bought a few new parts(of course). Got stuck on the throttle cable, then the winter came on, then daily migraines, then I got wrapped up in bass and guitar gear, and doing things on the house, and that's as far as I got. I have been paying insurance and keeping plates on it for no reason LOL. Just need to hook the throttle back up, sync the carbs, and button it back up and I still haven't done that, shame on me.

How did/do you like that DR650?
I've never rode a bike, but was looking into these dual sports when I get back to Ohio. Something to cruise around on the backroads and take in the woods. I was mainly looking at 250's and the DRZ400. It'll probably be cheaper to get a plated dirtbike.

Maybe I'm getting wrapped up in hype, but are those garment leather padded straps really all that? My cotton web 4" wide strap doesn't cut it on the heavier p bass.

I've had one on my SB2 for years. Great strap, very comfy. Due to some recent girth issues, I need to order an XL

Strange to care so much about your reviews of a strap but I've hit a road block buying a couple more. I need one though that has a little more taper on it to wrap under the Kramer Lumi. Since someone hacked the horn up (before I picked it up) It can't go back on the end and right now is on the bottom with a shortened screw. I'm hesitant to blow another hole and have the strap lock rear facing. Need a wide strap to battle neck dive and over all weight. But after picking up the ATK I'm not looking as hard for such things.

Boss is off today. Need something to do... Looking at gbase for birth year basses. There's some nice aluminum neck kramers for under $1k. How do they compare to say a standard jazz bass? Do they compare to EGC at all?

I've never rode a bike, but was looking into these dual sports when I get back to Ohio. Something to cruise around on the backroads and take in the woods. I was mainly looking at 250's and the DRZ400. It'll probably be cheaper to get a plated dirtbike.

I have owned the Kawasaki KLR650 and the Suzuki DR650 both great bikes but I found the DR650 to better for road driving, lots of tank slappers on the highway with the KLR650 that made me nervous all the time thinking the wind would knock me over. I think both are really too large for off road riding other than easy trails, great for dirt roads and well laid out trails. I think you got the right idea for looking at the 250's and 400's. Always wanted to own one of the smaller dual sports for trail riding. I would love to own one of those fat tired Yammie TW200's because my first bike(dirt bike) was a Yammie Big Wheel the sand bikes that had two atv tires on them. That thing would plow over anything. Loved riding over the culm banks in PA when I was a young buck. People in Japan turn the TW200's into bobbers, that would be a fun project too. If you never rode before that TW200 would be a good start and super stable with the fat tires, almost keeping itself upright.

Headrush is fantastic looper. I don't touch the delay function on it, but it's supposed to be pretty versatile. I would pick up the Akai over the DL4 any day of teh week. I had some volume issues with the playback on my loops with the DL4. Asked around it was a pretty common complaint. No such issue with the Akai. Although newer loopers will give you a lot more loop time....Both the DL4 and Headrush are pretty limited (~30secs) comparitively.

I think the comfort straps are the best but I also have one of these Planet Waves bass straps and it is also well made and nice and wide.
