Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

The 810 will be brighter really? Hmmm. Maybe bright isnt the right word, where the mids are placed might be more accurate. My EVM 215 have this upper mid bump I've never been able to control well, sure it makes it cut through anything like thermit, but I've never been a huge fan of the sound, its just stupid loud so it works for me. The 810 has that low mid hump that makes it cave your chest in, sure it might not have actually have much bass but it may have more precieved bass than the EVM does. I'm not too concern about power handling because I don't use lots of watts, my most powerful amp is my 800 Booster at 420 watts at 2 ohms.

I havent seen it yet too see how really bad the make over is so that's a factor too, if its beyond salvageable I'd probably stick with the EVM 215.

You bought some PA column speakers right 4x10 or 4x12? What ever became of those and what brand were they?

I found a peavey bass series 400 head finally at a decent price. Also some of the peavey 4x10 columns. I'd use the head with the bassic most likely.

But I also wonder how 8 10's and that head would sound together for guitar? That or just use them as monitors/pa/blast music through in my room?

NPD. The Pork Loin came in and tried it out last night at practice. It adds a nice little high end edge when used top of the demon.
By the way, my tuner is messing up. It's not muting properly every time.

I bought non tuck and roll Kustom 212+210s. I tried to convert it to 412s, but there just isn't much volume to vertical 412s for bass. For guitar, if your not looking for obscene bass, and just want to be loud as all hell they were great. Also a lot more portable than your standard full stack.

So y'all like B.C.Rich's?

Not a huge fan of that color (plus it's a NJ series, bolt neck, though still not bad)...but I LOVE the BC Rich Eagle design. That's one of the reasons I bought my Drake, it was clearly inspired by the body design. Love the double reverse P configuration too.

Got more blender parts in over the last two days: got the ICs that i needed in the mail today, got the 1590B enclosure, got the package with the rat circuit board and the correct jacks, LED and footswitch. Tomorrow I'll go through my parts box and make sure i have everything that I need. Should be a fun project.
