Yep, dead goddamn tired.
Happy birthday anyway!I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting a cold, allergy medicine isn't doing **** and now I think I'm running a fever. Was up all night sneezing and hacking and generally feeling like ****. No PTO until it resets in a week so no time off for me. Got a busy day full of meetings, then an Algebra exam and 4 hours of class time. What a happy birthday it's turning out to be.
I'm gonna go fall sleep behind the wheel now.....

but there are a number of things that are beyond "unanswered questions".
btw.. on strings: Im kinda surpised you all hate GHS so much. Ive used em for years on my Stingray and nothing matched the tone I got from it with them. Plus theyve lasted forever and the one time I had a bad string in a decade GHS sent me a whole new free pack. I havent tried them on a passive jazz yet, and I expect I wouldnt like them as much in that setting. Do all you non-GHS guys use passive basses?

I only hate the price of this single string that they don't make anymore. I can't have three red strings and one nickel. I'm too OCD for that.
Otherwise, I can't remember buying GHS strings. I used EB for a long time until it got into this music. Tried circle k, DR, Dunlop, La Bella, Dean Markley, and D'Addario. Still trying stuff. I never did a ton of experimenting with strings. They have always been more of a necessary than a luxury. So I usually just go with cheap.
Passive electronics, here.
I played someones jazz that had pressurewounds on it once. I really liked the feel. I need to try them out sometime. But this was before my experiments with flats. That and at that time I had one bass that was tuned to C. I don't remember there being pressurewounds that could be used for that low tuning.

Slapped on the D'Addarios. A little more high tension than I normally like but they sound great.
off to Bali today. can't wait to sweat profusely, stranded on the toilet whilst drinking beer.
Did webstrings come back? I had to file a paypal complaint agains them last year because of an unfulfilled order and complete absence of communication for the owner. Sad because I really liked their strings.
