Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

But they are special....
Screw 'em. I'm tired of them all. I'm going golfing.
I quit caring years ago. When they started treating kickers and passers like princesses I knew it wouldn't be long before the whole team was a bunch of pussies.
When you pay your players for showing up instead of taking risks for performance you don't care about entertainment.

lied to my students and told them that they had to clean up, because the cleaning ladies were making ruckus

I was TA'ing a lab once, and I wouldnt let the students leave until everything was perfectly picked up. One of them griped that "sweeping the floor was a custodian's job." I let the entire class go except him. I then informed him that the custodial staff didnt clean our labs, to save money, and because there was an incident turning off some grad student's experiment. To counter that, the TA's were now responsible. So he got to clean the lab after ever class for a week by himself.

Life skills and humility. Important stuff.

Mpdd and CL400, I applaud you xD

I can't stand people who consider tasks too menial and "beneath them". I remember going to Burger King a couple months ago, and there were these middle aged pompous guys who were loudly complaining that they weren't being served their food in the order that they ordered it in when everything was super backed up and hellishly busy.

Some things take longer to prepare. Fat ********. I felt bad for the kid cashiering for taking on all the heat.

I used to get servers back in the kitchen complaining about the order of food coming out. I would proceed to cut the buttons off their dress shirts with a very sharp knife, and remind them that the reason they were supposed to stay off the line, and communicate with the head chef expediting, was for their safety.

That's some brutal stuff there man! :jawdrop:

It was a busy, high end restaurant. Three guys on the line, Chef calling tickets. Dinner rushes were ~400 or so between 6 and 8 PM. The servers walked out of there every night with more in tips than the hourly kitchen staff made working 6 nights a week. The chef is this 6'6" dude who used to compete in tough man competitions, scary mofo.

The whole job was brutal, and I loved it. If I could have made an "adult living wage" I would have never left.

For real if I saw someone swinging a knife at me and then making contact, I have no responsibility for what my hands have grabbed and slashed back at you with.

But then again, I wouldn't be complaining when there is obviously timing issues all around and that's part of the job nightly.

If a server is in my face, on the line, about timing, when we are that busy, then they are lucky it was just a button. :D

You have to understand that, at that point I would have ~ 65 or so items on the grill or in the broiler. They had to take time to come back and distract me from it all. There were more than a few servers that had the attitude that they were more important than other servers, or the kitchen staff, because they took home $2k a week in tips.

In that environment, if you get sh!tty with me, I give it right back.

I worked as a host at the front of a place, I couldn't stand it at all. Ever server had an assigned section so of course they wanted a full section at all times 99% of the time so they would get max tip potential.

Every damn day they'd clock in and walk up to me and look for their assigned spot then start pestering me or poorly trying to sweet talk me into giving them every good table. I hated it, as everyone their acted friendly but it was all so fake as they'd each stab each other in the back in a heart beat over $5...

Pretty much. The place I worked at had servers bringing $500 home a night. Kitchen staff was lucky to get that in a week. So we didnt take kindly to the servers bitching about money.

Did nobody notice that I edited it to say he cut off their butts? My art is wasted on you.

Don't order the rump roast!
