Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

LowF, You'd be better off adding a second 4x10, as a 1x15 wouldn't be able to handle as much power or move as much air as the 4x10 cab can. Adding a 15" speaker won't make your sound deeper, that's a common misconception. But there are folks in here who can more accurately explain why that is.
This.

LowF the best match to your existing cab, is a second one. That said. I think you could get a lot more out of a cab upgrade, than by adding a second. Better to shoot for a really good used cab, than a bottom of the barrel new cab too.

Oh man, I don't know whether I'd've been startled as fugg or flipped my **** on the guy if that happened to me. Worst intersection for me is one near my casa by the local high school. It's a decent, younger-trending neighborhood, so think moms in SUVs and high school kids. A real danger zone for a runner with their head in la-la land. Crosswalks are absolutely meaningless.

I have terrible startle reflexes, you can walk up and say boo and I jump, but I'll walk away from true near death unphased. I actually had pedestrians and drivers opening there windows in the next lane asking if there was something wrong, but I just walked on.

I do lots of walking daily and sprints 1-2 a week. I really don't like cross country distance running/jogging.

Awesome work JMac!

Thanks man! Yeah, like I said I got crazy busy on the headcases, as a couple of fellas I made cases for had Orange endorsement deals, and shared them on Orange's facebook page, so I got a lot of hits really fast. Needless to say, I had to call break on cases for a minute, so I could get some work done on My cab.

Awesome guys, unlike Ron, I can't acquire a warehouse of power to satisfy my subterranean sonic needs. But one day. One day (sigh)

Power is important, but the cab is more important. Ron runs a +3,000 watt amp, but it would mean nothing if he was running crappy cabs.

I run a Crest ProLite 3.0 some times. I rarely bridge it. Other times I am running a Carvin B1500 with my '66. Dump either of those in to a pair of low end cabs and you are going to have a pile of ash.

Also, since I love a good pick spam, and I know the rest of you are wondering about my DuallyT and Dingwall...

Home practice rig.

We realize 78 mins is a tall order, but were already leaving out more than a few songs for the next album. We've been trying to record for so long we've written a lot of songs we want to include on this album.

Well see how much we actually get recorded how we like it. But a 40 min album to us is 3-4 songs. Which to me is not a full length. And it would be really hard to choose what would make the album and what wouldn't.

Well, poopie, son, "Vega-Live in the Studio" double album covers all the bases. All the songs, ripped right through in the alotted time, no worries about overdubs 'cause it's a live album.

I have a VT on the way. If you decided the WF is not your thing let me know.

I am picturing an ODB, VT, WF board. All Dunwich dirt :)

I just redesigned the ODB now, its like the counterpart to the VT where the VT is the distortion and the ODB is the overdrive. I could eventually offer a super pedal with both in the same enclosure like a 1590DD

That would be cool although personally I'd prefer the flexibility of two separate pedals. Really looking forward to trying the VT and eventually the odb and wf.
