Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

A few years ago my aunty went through some brutal mental breakdown right after she had her third kid. She completely lost her mind and started think my family was practicing witchcraft and cursing her. Got so bad that she brainwashed my younger cousins into thinking the same thing so the whole family distanced themselves from ours. Wasn't until she took off in the middle of the night with the two younger kids that my uncle came to us for help.

Anyway, long story short, we very rarely keep in contact with her anymore because she's still a complete nutjob but she doesn't think we do witchcraft anymore (to our knowledge) so we went over to her flat for Christmas today real quick just to drop off gifts for the kids. She's got a whole wall filled with hand-written biblical scripture and crucifixes on just about every doorway in the apartment - even the shaging toilet. Creeped me right the shag out so I bailed almost as soon as I went in. Really feel bad for the kids because she won't even let them watch cartoons unless they're religious cartoons on DVDs because everything else has been "poisoned by Satan". Social services apparently OK'd the behaviour too...

Oh for sure, she's beyond anyone's help and I've honestly stopped caring about her welbeing since we learned she quite literally kidnapped her own kids. I really do hope the kids find their own path later in their lives but right now its scary because they repeat everything she tells them and they think its normal. Sorry, but its not normal that an 8 year old can only play with coloured blocks because action figures, dinosaurs and videogames are corrupted by the devil. I can't even play FIFA with them because footballers are "false idols".

On a much lighter note, I'm absolutely in love with this SVT. Still trying to process how great this box of glass and wires sounds and feels. The weight of the whole rig is going to take its toll on me for sure, though, so I'm flipping my two 410 cabs and putting the money towards a lone 610. Same dude I bought the SVT off is also selling a Berg NV610 which sounded really nice when I played the SVT through it so there's a consideration but I'll keep my eyes open for something a little bit more affordable. I might even look into an Ashdown ABM 610 since I'm so happy with the sound of my ABM 410.

So in response to this... thinking about wiring options.
The Samick these are destined for has EMGs, and switch/volume/tone. Always had a switch and enjoy having a master volume.
Wondering about 2 volumes and a tone(with a push/pull global series).
Maybe volume/blend/tone.
How about a fancy tonestyler instead of traditional tone?

Any thoughts.

And what would Christmas be without one awkward experience. Showed up at the girlfriend's folks and who was there, Micah's biodad. Have to admit it was at least without drama and the first time in four years we made eye contact and shook hands. But still got akward when he stayed for like two hours watching everyone exchange gifts. I know that is part of life dating someone who was married and had a kid but still awkward. I need to go back to PA for Christmas like I do for Thanksgiving lol.

Go full on swiss army. Master Volume, Three way toggle for pickup selection and 6 position rotary switch to place whatever capacitors inline you want to flirt with.
Ticks can be done with Volume Volume setups but playing live, but once you find the seet spot you don't want to mess with it.
Forces you to use a tuner mute or volume pedal for thermal cool down during breaks.
