He and his family crash with people two doors down from her parents so for Micah's birthday and Christmas they usually run Micah over to get gifts and what not. Her parents still bother with him of course. Not like normal grandparents who would be what you doing here you never come see him any other time other than to play it up at holidays. I don't think they expected him to just keep hanging around though.

Yeah if was her folks housr and didn't want to loose my cool and be the bad guy especially with him trying to bury the hatchet. I would be the hot head in the situation. I didn't want to show weakness by leaving either. But trust me her folks lost respect and points with me once again and I never forget. Sucks raising Micah and loser gets to swing by on the most important days of the year though to cash in on it.

I get you, but I also imagine Micah is still at the age he has no concept of how (un)cool biodad is and its easier for Joe to take the higher ground and let biodad stay around rather than make a scene and potentially look like he's the jerk when clearly he isn't.

At a point I'm the same. Though after extensive use of a three-way cabinet the subtleties of 2 pickup blending have really captivated me.

Also mom and me had a laugh last night. Turns out another of my cousins is on disability and gleefully said he's "retired", then bought a brand new F150 got a lift job on it, and got both kids their own new ps4 and big screen tv and iphone 6 for Christmas and they are only 8 and 13?!

How any of this is a good idea is beyond me. Daughter wanted me over at her moms apartment for Christmas. Turned her down as not a good idea. There is a reason, I'm divorced.
My ex is getting the picture with my family that the party is over. All the ass hat awards have been given out at this point.
There are boundaries one should not expect to take. Being welcome in hostile territory, mmmm yeah not going to happen on my watch.

Biodad is an old school loser, ripped dirty clothes, unkempt beard. Ocassionally works crappy lowpaying jobs for a while then quits or gets fired from them. Lives with who ever will let him crash there, a prime example of a loser and a user. The I am like this and the world owes me because my daddy was a bum.
Made my day that day that Micah didn't make much fuss over him and most all of Sarah's kin made no fuss over him at all. Plus it was nice when he had to listen to all the things that Sarah got me for Christmas and was loving on me and flirting with me in front of him. I think what I disliked the most was him cuddling with our new puppy LOL.

Thanks Brother! Yeah I am all about boundaries. I just don't understand their thinking at all. I would never haunt an ex. I would go out of way to make it simple and drama free. I think the scumbag wad actually hoping to be invited to dinner it was that awkward and loserish of him. I guess I can laugh a little now as I got to watch a loser spread out in full plumage.

So the EHX Pitch Fork is pretty cool. Fun to be able to play in Baritone, C, D, etc with the flick of a switch. And for doing nonmusical whammy weirdness with the Roland expression pedal hooked up to it. I would love to try that new Digitech Drop pedal to see which one sounds better

Wasn't all that impressed by the AE Toke Machine. Need to give it some time on the other amps. It's a octave up mixed in... Not something I need much, would rather go octave down. :/

Rice cookers are nice - I got a $10 one from Walgreens a few years ago that's still going strong.

Back at work today, about 900 emails to catch up on, but it's dead quiet so I'm getting a lot done. No family christmas this year, I was sick and my sister's husband is going germaphobe crazy with their new baby so I ended up staying home. Will probably go visit the folks this weekend.

No gifts, but a 9 day trip to the UK is about the best gift that I could imagine getting, so all's good. Might buy a cheap pedal if the folks give me some cash, but I'm not too worried if they don't.

In other news, I also got The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. Never read any of his stuff before, but daaaaamn, really enjoying it (it's all I did yesterday). Between this and rereading The Lord of the Rings, going to have some serious inspiration going into 2015.

The best part of Lovecraft's writing is his outright obsessions with gambrel roofs, non-Euclidean geometry and the word "cyclopean" and how he squeezes it into almost every story, ever.

Not such a fan of his barely veiled New England racism about "mongrel people."

If your collection includes Rats in the Walls, you should read that one. It's always been my favourite.

So I took one of those quizzes on facebook that a friend posted for which death metal band you are. Not usually into death metal stuff. Answered around 12 questions and got behemoth. Listening now, I kinda like it. There was that 200watt crate local and now I have money, it's gone. Damn, I thought I was finally going to have my dual amp setup. One side, one effects side. Oh well.
