I got mine yesterday. I have to really commend the customer service offered by
Sweetwater. I ordered it online using my cell phone. Later that day, I had a voicemail from my sales rep offering a tracking update and "checking in" to see if I had any questions. This guy has occasionally checked in with me over the past year or so, after my first purchase at
Sweetwater, which totalled about $35. Also I had the amp in one business day with free shipping; I would have had it Saturday, but I had it shipped to my office. So, hats off to Sweetwater.
On to the amp. This replaces a Markbass LMII for me, which is a great little amp. The thing I notice most so far is that the RH750 is a chameleon. Everyone on talkbass likes to pidgeon-hole amps, saying it sounds like this or it sounds like that. This make it easier to talk about them. This amp, though, is a good knob-twister. With its four band semiparmetric eq, spectracomp, tube tone, and tweeter tone, this amp has a lot of different sounds. It can get pillowy and round, or tight and crisp. So far, I'm very impressed, but we'll see what I think after a few rehearsals and gigs.
I only have a couple minor issues with it so far. All my cables have neutrik angled ends at one end. Because of the way the sides of the amp overhang the front, plugging the angled end into the amp is awkward at best. Also, it would be really nice if all those lights would go to sleep after you finish knob twisting. Finally, I hear the fan a little more than I did on my LMII.
On the plus side, the tweeter hiss is less significant than on my LMII, and the RH750 is LOUD! All in all, I'm pretty happy so far, but I'm just getting started ith this thing.
