Depending on which Trace Elliot site you go to, you see different offerings. The large bag is not offered on the http://www.trace-elliot.co.uk/index.php UK site.

btw, the site seems to be redirected to the US site if you don't use the url as is above. (www.trace-elliot.co.uk) will redirect back to the US site (www.traceelliot.com) and you will have to go to the bottom of the page and "Choose Country" to go back.

I had a 1518 cab shipped to me. The day it was supposed to arrive, I find out it was being re-boxed by FedEx because the box had damage and they didn't want to deliver as was.:eyebrow:
It was insured for 500.00 bucks(Price sticker says $499.00).

Well I went to them and picked it up. They had disposed of the old box and the speaker was upside down in the new box. I mentioned damage/scratches on the grill to the agent who tapped something into the hand scanner you sign for your stuff on.

Well, The speaker isn't "blown" it just doesn't move. Like it's frozen.
Would this be caused by being face dropped during shipping or is this something that happens over time?
Until I saw this thread, I assumed the seller sent a bad speaker.... and I told him so.:hiding:
The seller refunded me the cost of a replacement speaker with profuse apologies but, if it's carrier damage then he should get his money and the carrier should pay for the damage done in shipping, IMO. Cause that's the "right thing".
Any thoughts?
I sold a 1518 to a member here that was working perfectly before I shipped it. I had just played on it the day before so I know it was good. I packed the hell out of it but somewhere, somehow, something happened to it. When the new owner got it he said it sounded like an old tinny radio and the cone wouldn't move. He and I both believe it had to have happened during shipping.

that's EXACTLY what this one sounds like... an old tinny radio and the cone is frozen....
You didn't ship it to Fort Collins, CO did you????

GAS is on for the Trace Elliot logo Bass at 2009 Namm that David Ellefson was playing... Is a Peavey?

Tom.. oh TOOOOM. Where is that bass now? It was in the video you made of the demo.

I do believe that it is a Peavey bass, but sadly, I have no idea where it is... :(

Got to be a Peavey...

I jammed on one of those back in '98-'99 and loved it. I think I have seen one since then. I don't think they made many of them. That's got to sound like a punch in the face through Trace! -Luke
I bought mine brand new in 02 from Guitar Center in Tukwilla, WA. It is a sweet machine, the Luthite body material transfers sustain IMO like a neckthru, It has the SR series neck - thin, fast, smooth. Active electronics and I could get the everything from the Jazzy piano like NS2J  sound to fattest of fat growler sounds.:bassist: <- madd bass!

I hear all this hype about this bass has this tone and that bass has that tone... for the money this bass has it all in this class. Is it a Spector, no, neck is thinner than a Spector but really- blindfold test it. I think you'd be surprised.;)
