Somehow, I really doubt that anyone is going to be making that trip in the next 2 days. :D

I could use a 2103h also. Not in my current budget though..

Though its definitely not in my budget at this time and I'm definitely not driving up there any time soon even though I'm maybe an hour and a half away or so...I have been seriously considering somehow mating that 2103 with my 1153.

Then there's the issue of mixing cabs; wonder how it would sound seeing as they're all Celestions and both cabs are rated at 200 watts and running the 210 vertically.

I'm not entirely opposed to mixing cabs, but I wouldn't do it. I'd go with another 15.

The subject is quite the dead horse on this forum, isn't it?

No doubt the subject is more than dead. I have mixed cabs with both good and terrible results. The only reason I would even consider it in this case is because they're the same manufacturer, similar sized cabs, similar power ratings...but of course the proof is in the pudding and there's no way to tell if it would work well without trying.

I am on the lookout for another 1153 and that is my first choice...more of the sound I currently like.

I've always been curious about what the 2103H would sound like paired with a 1153. For me, I started getting into the Trace stuff for the crispness and clarity of their distintive sound; I kinda feel like the 15" defeats that. That's my opinion though. I've never tried a piece of Trace Elliot gear that I didn't love.

I spent most of my time running the 2103H horizontally, with the drivers nearest the floor and the ports at the top.

I've been keeping an eye on this auction RARE TRACE ELLIOT TWIN VALVE TUBE COMBO AMP

Seems to be very similar to one in an older post that turned up http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/trace-elliot-twin-valve-combo-questions-385107/

I've been gassin' for a TE tube amp and just don't know what this particular one might be worth.
If anyone has any information, opins, or value guesstimates I'd sure appreciate it.

I have two of these combos, and they are really great. Definitely heavy, but the tone is awesome. I have a separate head case for one of them.

That is a stupidly good price, and the shipping quote is quite reasonable.

Thanks Tom, I'm not sure I would have had the cojones to go through with the purchase if not for your post.

nice buy! if i saw that auction sooner it would be on its way to my house instead of yours!

this very amp was on Georgia (forget what city) craigslist a few months ago. I emailed about it and asked if shipping was an option (as I'm in NY) and never got a response :(

I bought this head used, back in the nineties, on the day of a gig (I was in a pinch, needed a new head)...I haven't bought another bass amp since, although I've gone through a few cabs over the years. I love the sound of it, especially since I got the 2x10 cab for it, but I don't know much about it - can anyone edumacate me?

Also, here it is with the Eden cabs and my Hosono 5-String:

GP7 pre-amp, and it looks as if it's a 300 watt (trying to read the logo in that small pic) in what looks like a factory head case. A generic GP7 .pdf of the factory manual is available [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. That head might have a single-tube pre as well...pull the head out of the case and remove the top panel to see; there should also be build-check stickers inside that will give the exact date it was built (I'm guessing mid 90's, as my AH130SM is a '94 and looks identical to yours).

And if you already weren't aware of them, bookmark British Audio Service...they know EVERYTHING (this is where the .pdf came from).

Awesome, thanks Mudd. I've never taken the amp out of the case, but on the back it says Model # 3001, does that mean anything? What does your AH130SM say on the back? Sorry about the small pic, not sure what happened there. You can see a bigger size here if you're interested.
