Finally I'm able to join this club...what an honor:hyper:

Anyway, to fund my newly developed tube addiction, I've gotten these two heads.

Not having played through a tube bass amp before, I was amazed at the warmth, punch and mainly the smoothness of the sound. I think I'm hooked to the tone :help:

There's another pic of the cabs I'm playing them through...

Wow! Way to get into tube heads with style! :D

I own both of those heads, and IME/IMHO, the two best all-tube bass heads I have ever tried are the SA200 and the V8. You, sir, have excellent taste! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Thanks for the compliments Mr. Bowlus:D

Indeed, I have to admit, my buying these two amps and you owning them is not entirely coincidence. I came across this V8 some time ago from a super nice TB'er, I knew it was hard to find so I grabbed it. Then in researching information I found your review of the amp, which instilled a lot of confidence in continuing with the deal.

Because the deal took so long to complete, there was a 2 month gap between me deciding to buy the V8 and actually receiving it.

So in this period, a friend of mine happened to help is friend advertise this signed example of the SA200, so there I went looking for information on the internet and what do I find? Another review by you! So here I am, with these two amps...:D

Ok all you Trace Elliot guys I need your help. I'm a Ampeg/Markbass/Fender amp kind of guy & have never played any Trace Elliot stuff except this cap In this for sale add. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] I'm 90% sure it's not a 412 but an early 1048. I played through this cab 10 years ago when I was jamming with my buddy Mike (seller) & his band. His wife is pregnant & he's unloading old equipment. He asked me if I knew the specs on this cab because the dish has no info on it & I was wondering if it was an original connector dish or not. Anyway he wants me to take it off his hands rather some random person but without some info I'm not sure & I think $250 is a bit much. I can say that I was in love with the tone of this thing when I was playing through it with my old Ampeg SVT 3 Pro. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

Is the following a dedicated preamp or is it a full-blown bass head (pre & power)?

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Edit: I believe I just saw this same exact unit on E-bay...not sure what the full story may be. There was a pic of the reverse...very grainy...and what appears to be a big ol' heat sink and two 1/4" outputs. I'll assume it is indeed an integrated bass head. Given that fact, what would be a realistic value given a working pre but non-working power section?

Looks like a bass AMP to me (meaning it has a power section). Offer $50, it's probably worth that at least, but if it's problem is more than a fuse consider how much you will invest in a repair. Shipping if you use B.A.S.

See if you can bring some additional equipment to test it out more, i.e. do you get signal out of the tuner out, line out or DI. Make sure the entire preamp section works (EQ, controls, etc.) to isolate the issue.

In your market it's pretty well worthless as a 30lb preamp. Cost of repairs could exceed what a working one is worth.

He doesn't seem to know what he's selling or he's a lazy bugger copying smx description in his advert, no compressors on that one. I might offer 20 bucks on the offchance it just needs a fuse or a cheap fix. When I popped mine, plugging speaker into footswitch, it was just a voltage regulator blown.

Thank you. I was thinking $30-40...figured the preamp section was worth that even if the power section doesn't work. I was planning on taking headphones and my tuner for the stated purpose. Anybody ever run across a corrupted FX (send/return) loop on these things?
