The Combo Club

KTS, great to see you found your way to the Combo Club, welcome, my friend. And I do say that literally, everyone, because Kai earlier this week drove to Ioway via NW Indiana to purchase my Jazzer, seen here in his pics, and it looks like it’s found a great home too!

Of course, I asked the young bassist if he rocked a combo and after getting an affirmative I asked him to post a pic so I could hand out a membership # and here he is!

Kai, I’ll get you a number in the morning after I lock myself into Command Central, be looking for it. Great pics, BTW. :hyper:
Definitely love the jazzer! My instructor played it and I got to hear how truly great the tone is on the flats. I couldn’t be happier, thanks so much! I spend a lot of time wiping down fingerprints just making sure it stays as beautiful as when I took custody. :bassist:
I’ll be around when I start looking to get a real solid combo! And be sure to let me know when you’re passing on anymore lefties. ;)

Congrats on the purchase. As I said in the classifieds, if it wasn't backwards, I would have bought it. Play it with pride and don't let those fingerprints bother you. They are reminants of FL's toils ;).

Let me see here: your instructor loves it; the flats are amazing (which they are), and you're wiping off the bass to keep it immaculate...does it get any better than this, folks? you proved to me that our deal earlier this week was meant to be. When you're ready for a P bass let me know. ;)

Revered combo club members I need your input on a tiny combo dilemma.
I would like an amp that keeps up with a piano and sometimes sax, for living room practice and motorcycle or public transport portability.

I can get any of these used, for the exact same price (200-220€), which would you elect, for a precision and sometimes fretless 4 string player?

- PJB BG-75
- Markbass Micromark 801
- GK MB110
- Ibanez promethean p3110

Many thanks in advance.

If you live in Europe check out the Eden combos. Really nice sound and features. They lack a US distributor so the shipping makes them overpriced for us now. I really liked mine before I fried it.

Which Eden specifically? I've looked for the Eden EC28 and N28S and haven't found any.

I guess for now I'd like to know what members of this sub would go for from the list I put together.

Was pretty busy since Friday so am catching up. Saturday, drove back home(140 miles)from Orlando to load gigmobile and head back north to Ft. Pierce(~30 miles)for American Legion gig. Sunday morning gig(south ~13 miles)-9 'til noon-then back to house for 'afternoon delight'[nap] then south(~75 miles)to Lake Worth for Finnish Independence Day dinner/dance. That's 3 gigs in 24 hours after nothing except concert band rehearsals since 11/13. Tired-ish fingers from playing; tired back from schlepping.

Due to @Morrighan I've heard a lot off good things about the PJB.(Her idolatrous waffling doesn't stop, if you cover her mouth, her backside will take over.... If that amplifier can do that to a person.... then it must be good.:p) If they throw the pile you mentioned at my direction, I'll try to catch that one. Next on the list would be the Markbass.
