What I know to be empirically true is I'm one cappuccino and two coffees down the road into the new year. Freshly back from an annual eye exam, my vision is unchanged and my eyes are healthy. Pupils are still dilated enough to look illegal.

The double 4 ($480) is 9 lbs @ 70 watts and two 4” speakers.
The bass cub 2 ($700) is 15lbs at 110 watts and two 5” speakers.
The bass cub pro ($750) is 17lbs @ 120 watts and yes is a double 5” speaker setup.
the Nano is one 4” speaker @ 5lbs and is 35 watts and cost $360…

The BG-400 Suitcase Compact is ~1200 spacebucks and rings in at 40 pounds. No reason not to take it to a gig considering its headroom. Forty pounds is still 40 pounds, though. A single PJB C2 and the Elf bring a lot to the party at 16 pounds for the cab. But that ain't no combo, even with lots and lots of hook and loop.

Next logical step up would be the Rumble 40 or Orange 50. Rumble has XLR out. Crush Bass 50 has FX loop to XLR out through your Darkgkass…
oh- I checked out that pedal. SWEET!!!!!
I’ve got a cheep Dapper Bass - some FX, lots of output options, compressor, and a built in tuner that mutes signal when engaged. Fun!!

Yeah….pricey, but a fly rig like that is as good as an amp in many situations.
I have a Behringer BDI 21 that I have used sans amp at some tight venues. It’s a simple SansAmp clone, but does it well.

I haven’t been able to use my Dapper outside the living room yet.
Very nice pics, 68Tele-Bass! Own one of those BDI pedals myself. I think they sound pretty darn good, in that they're very similar to a SansAmp.

I got a little combo in the end, a Line 6 LD studio 10 popped up for little locally.
Very portable and I might upgrade the speaker in the future!

Combos in Action
is the featured attraction at the Combo Club All Nite Laundromat and Silent Movie Theater this week.
One of our many combos in action on the Hollywood Walk of Fame* is my rock-steady Suitcase Compact, serving lowly duty as a majorly awesome DI for the Webcam. Because ever so slightly upthread, in the New Year's Resolutions sort of space, I did say I have my eye on some teaching role.
Looks like it sort of happened in its own way. I return to Ari Cap's 2022 Music Theory for the Bass Player winter cohort as both a coach to students, and also as a coach to three coaches.
* It would take a lot of lemonade to get all these stories out of me.

We use one of those Line 6s at church. I haven't used it yet myself, but my friend who got it back in the day reckons they're much better than their reputation, and are pretty good value.
Tone controls. They're for making jazz pickups noisy, right?

So, whaddaya think of the Clubhouse? The nFL hasn't changed too much, just a subtle shade of color here or there. But, how 'bout that snazzy Combo Club Membership Wiki page, huh? So cool! Oh, and the new "Hail to the Chief" wallpaper in the Executive Powder Room is really tastefully done, too.
Yeah, we're still the same friendly place. I just think it's taking some of us a while to recover from all the celebrations around here. We were all glad to see 2021 go. And we were all just shocked, ... SHOCKED!, I tell you, to see you step down!! But, then, equally glad to see another truly Benevolent One actually volunteer (is the way The Club minutes read) to carry on in your stead. And not even one head has rolled! Heh, heh, heh. ... yet ...

I don't think so. I believe "Inactive" to be a passive result of inattention, which could possibly be reversed. But, both "Suspended" and "Banned" are the very active result of breaking the rules, and can only be endured.
Yes! "Suspended" is a temporary cooling off. But, if the offence is repeated, or another one committed, then "Banned" is the result.
