They have a Genz Benz backline in their rehearsal space.

The PJB BG-400 is made to be pushed.

By some good fortune I can play both the PJB rig and the Elf rig with an ABY switch, if I need a lot more loud. Hey, sounds fun. There is a line out on the combo I could use, too.

A supplied rig, or part of a rig. The band who asks I audition keeps a bass amp in their rehearsal space, so that's a backline. I can bring my own head and use their cab, or use what's there.

If I get the gig (big IF) my next purchase is a hand truck or wagon. PJB gear is small but it ain't light. That's 40 pounds for the BG-400 combo. The completely unfounded and barking mad street talk is Peavey sold their patent for weight to PJB and Orange

To expand on that^, it could also include guitar amp(s), drums, PA, or ?.

As a business band, my expectation is the FOH is for voice and sax. The PJB combo and extension will absolutely cover any indoor gig for this kind of music IMO. Likely full PA for festival and outdoor gigs, is my guess.

Here in the space of practically a day, gone from wanting even smaller and lighter to giving serious thought about a festival stage. Madness, madness

I think the overall consensus is that a person may drop in at any time, whether they own a combo or not.

Just because a person's rig is not actually a combo does not mean they are not welcome here.

I hung out here sporadically for years before finally acquiring my first bass combo in 50 years of playing just a few weeks ago.

See? I needed to wait another minute. Though I've never played through a GB, it sounds to be really nice gear. You may not need anything else, though bringing the Elf and swapping for it, if you can, may not be a bad idea if you're looking for a little more grind.

Or maybe it's time to begin shopping for a Rocket Bass combo, preferably the 210. It may be enough for ya to do the outdoor gigs, though I know you like Mr. Jones' stuff.

Everyone have themselves a productive, safe, and fun week. I've got four days with the little monsters, then four days off to enjoy spring (maybe) while recording a whole bunch of songs, then a four-day week of school after that. All of a sudden we're to the last week of April and that leaves only May. Seven weeks to go and a handful of June days to clean up the room (for the final time) and turn in the key.

Before you know it, I'll finally be able to join the elite corp of those who toiled most of their lives and can now relax without the burden of getting up the next morning. That is, until August when subbing will begin and I'll still be getting up in the morning to go teach for whoever was too scared to show up at work that day. Three days a week is all I need to keep the bill collector away and I'm okay with that. If it's any less, Soul Reflection promised to keep me in the green!

Hey, my PJB Double-4 is still available (and somewhere in the Classifieds) if anyone is interested. I'll make any CC member a special price and pay to ship in the continental US. PM me if interested. I figured Doc was ready to start unloading all his gear and go simple! ;)
