I've been trying to do precisely that, Giffy! But, lately my doctors (very heavy on the plural case there) have persuaded me, very convincingly I might add, that their recommendations should take precedence in the (hopefully) short term. 3 unrelated surgeries last month and one more, again unrelated to the others, next month. My wife calls me The Six Million Dollar Man, "We can rebuild him, we have the technology!" After that, though, look out world! :woot:

Best wishes for swift recovery to full health, and of course the ability to jump an 8 foot tall fence!

Thanks, Roddy. :) These days I don't even step over anything bigger'n a shoebox. But I plan to be foot-racing my grandson's Hemi by the end of the summer! (Very short distances only!) ;)

Just passing by and wanted to say hi to the crew before embarking on another new week. Everyone have had a prosperous one as well. It’s almost summer and we’ve been feeling it, weather wise, in Iowa the past ten days.

Speaking of ten days, that’s what I’m down to with kids. Our annual talent show is on the 27th and I hope to get some video of it. Our trio is playing Bruno Mars’ “Count on Me.” Should be fun.

Doc Intrepid, what have you left for days, fine sir? Also, is there still snow on the ground? After mid-90s last week, it sounds good.

I’m attaching a picture of both the fourth and fifth-grade classes surrounding me at a surprise tree dedication to me last Thursday. After complaining about three trees ripped up for a parking lot extension, they planted one in my honor to begin the payback. It was a complete surprise and totally cool. I yelled out after it, “I’m officially old!” I figure you have to be an oldster to get a tree dedicated to ya so I must’ve made it.

Again, everyone have a pleasant week and I’ll talk to ya soon! :hyper:

Congratulations, Your ex-Excellency! Being older than a little sapling, even planted in your honor, doesn't make you old. When you visit it next year and see how big it is, ... that will make you feel old!:roflmao: I know visiting my grandmaw's house and seeing the little saplings of my youth that are now lumber worthy sure makes me feel old! :( But looking around at what were big trees back then, which are now even bigger trees!, makes me feel a bit better.

I am done June 23. I am teaching a very small class of one right now and working on a textbook I hope to publish with a small publisher. Looking forward to the summer!

But, can you see the forest?;)

Had the opening slot at a gig on Friday and went with my MarkBass 121p combo amp. Sounded fantastic. No problems hearing myself and got lots of compliments on my playing.

I normally play through a huge Mesa stack that requires 3-4 trips from the car. Then I set the master volume at 2 or 3. Why have I been doing this? Combos are awesome.

That's the spirit, got. How's about showing a photo of your combo and asking to join The Club here? You've been with us a while now, dipping your toes in. Come on, take the plunge! :D

Yeah. man! All the cool kids are doing it! Well, OK. Less than 300 so far. And some of us aren't that cool. But still.
And remember, resistance is futile, except when it's not.

Doc, good luck with the book. Maybe you'll end up with a million-seller and can retire to write off in the countryside while also noodling on your basses.

I wanted to tell ya that this next week something that begins with the letter "H" will have traveled from Washington State and it has a Pro look to it. I'm excited about it too. Almost as much as with the five school days left! I'll send ya a pic when it arrives. :hyper:
