Soulman, for every person who’s worked hard throughout their life and is enjoying good health (hopefully), enough to live on with a little comfort, and fewer worries than when you were 40, I Salute Ya!
Two years and a little over two months to go, but with everything being thrown at us in public education right now, I hope I make it! Now this stupid virus which may begin affecting our schedule any day now.

Being retired, it seems we trade those things for health and age concerns but, as long as I can retain a sense of humor and have "a little comfort", I can enjoy TB, re-living my bass past and having more time to get into trouble

At the same time, I know that when I don't have a solid reason (ahem, work) to get out of bed early each day, I get less stuff done. I tried a 'staycation' a couple years ago. Found that having the whole day off meant I got about as much done around the house as I did when I worked 8 hours first. I just took twice as long to do it.

So, I guess I'll put up with the grind, and spend too much time on TB, and too little playing!

Digging a little further (farther?) back in the thread for this one.
I have Pyramid Gold flats on Shorty (P), and I am pretty sure they are nickle flats.
I have Fender flats on my Jazz, and I think they are stainless.
I have LaBella tape wound flats (I know, roundies under) on my new Mouse.
I have gound-wounds on my Woody fretless (hey, it's close).
What is the thinking on this thread about the material that make up the outer wrap on flats?
Indeed, true words. That Warwick looks about the size of the bass ornament that goes on our Christmas tree!

Nice set up. I have a Rumble Combo but wonder if an Ampeg is in my future.
What bass is that? I have a lefty 2018 MIM Player Series P bass that looks just like it. What strings do you use? I have LaBella Flatwounds 760FS (.105's).
The bass is a 2017 American Pro with DR Sunbeams.

I have a Pau Ferro fingerboard on my MIM Fender P (lefty, of course) and I actually like it a lot. During the Christmas holidays, I took off the strings and cleaned the bass up. Even oiled the fingerboard. I have a weird quirk that I need to like the way my bass looks. Not as important as feel or sound, but I need to like the shape and the way the bass body, headstock, neck, and even pickguard looks together. Mine came with the white pickguard but kind of looking for a tort to go with the sunburst body. Unfortunately, it seems to me everyone hates lefties so it is tough to find one. I thought about contacting Fender directly to see if I can buy a lefty tort guard from their custom shop. I need one that matches the original. Not interested in drilling new holes in my bass.
