RR, I’m probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the way into the song. Be listening for a nasty, snarling, take-no-prisoners tone...that’s the guy next to me. My fave of the two takes I did, one clean and one dirty, was the clean tone, so I’m sure I’m buried behind a snozzlephone or something.

I received a large pdf file of the sheet music (no wussy tabs or anything) and a midi of the song. Had a click track throughout, obviously a very synthy sound, and a single vocal. Worked for me. All in all, I thought it was handled quite well. Very professional, especially for as many people as our guy, Jens, had to handle.

He asked everyone if they could send back their contribution early since he knew there were gonna be lot of entries, yet was politely nagging people to get a move on two days before his due date. Ah, musicians...what can you do?

Let me know if you’re interested in adding that beautiful bass to a song.

Cool. I think it's great that you were able to be involved! As PT said, you're part of history now. I've done bupkus that fits into that description while quarantined, and not much more before then.

My only weakness on this sort of thing is that I don't read music. I can slowly put together what the notes are, but it's less like reading, and more like archaeology.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I read, and this music was only Level 1, so it’s pretty basic to read at tempo, but for the more intricate pieces we’d play in my community concert band I’d cheat by writing the letters of the notes above them to make learning it a little faster.

Now before the real musicians in this club remind me that it doesn’t help with things like the rhythm of the piece, you are correct. That’s why I practiced a great deal, listened to recordings, and worked with our bari sax player and the trombone section. For me, half the fun of performing was the preparation, and the fact it was during summers and I had lots of time to devote myself to the group.

I’ll make a note to send you the sheet music to RMLaH and you can look it over.

Hear tell the Elf plays well with the TE 1x10 + 2x8. An Elf combo 10 with a TE 2x8 sure sounds tasty to me.

Early field report here — the Elf + 2x PJB Cab 27s makes me LOL LOL LOL to hear so much thunder of of so small a rig. That does not mean there isn't some part of me still yearning for a 1x15 combo but absolutely impossible to justify now :roflmao:

I love my swr. Up till now the only thing I would have considered switching to is mesa boogie.
The amp.
Will get one some day.
Sounded perfect through my swr cabinet.

This cabinet and those italian speakers with those two front facing ports .and with the swr 10 cab attached has my perfect tone. Great job trace elliot.

The 10.
Meh...not bad...not great like the 2x8 and I wanted it to be great since it's so much lighter than the swr...

My perfect set up would my my swr combo with a Trace Elliot 2x8. But if my swr amp ever dies like it did on my 12 a TE amp will be on it's way to my house.

Fine, but there will be no panting when TE puts out a PJB-like 115 cab that weighs next to nothing and still thrills we oldsters with memories of the past. And the price? A cool $2.5 million!

Okay, so enough with the ignoring your first posting of today, what’s the VOX stork bringing you soon? My guess is the AmPlug for quiet time jamming. How far off am I?(unless you went NuTube mad and bought a new combo!)

This would be the place all right VXT-1 Strobe Pedal Tuner - Vox Amps

Pics to follow. The priority now is to treat my fretboard with some bore oil, and check the setup when I'm done!

That'll make the final change to my pedalboard and now guess it's time to wait out this thing that's going around so we can perform again. Right?

Combos... what if I built it? LOL. I have the 2x10" version of the XM200 and for most gigs it's pretty much all I use. It fits everywhere and handles the 5th string well enough without booming thru the whole room. I had purchased on sale a Yorkville Small Block 500 watt micro head in order to get me thru after blowing up the Eden combo. However, I didn't want to haul my Basson cabs back and forth to rehearsal as I just flat out don't NEED all that. So... I plugged the Yorky into the Eden cab. And.. HEY.. well now that Traynor really CAN make damn near anything sound better! Of course with 4x the power handling of the Eden head it should. So I have the XM combo, but now the TraynEdenstein since the XM is in quarantine at my drummer's house. In case of unexpected arena shows, I can unmount the Small Block and haul out the 2 Basson 15" cabs and away we go. That particular combination makes for volume that I can't actually fully explore inside my house because.. um... my wife starts yelling "THINGS ARE BREAKING NOW, ARE YOU SURE IT'S WORKING?"
