It was quite tasty and I have a second one for lunch tomorrow. I haven’t tried the gyro, but it does look good.

I get the originals and it’s banging. French dip is no slouch by any means though
So, while on my hiatus from TB, I auditioned for the bass seat in an original project. Tired of the work involved in gigging (even though that's been non-existent lately) and ready to be creative. Even though I was told "we have a bass rig", I brought my GK MB212-ii....and left it in the car! Their bass rig is a Mark Bass 2X10" 500 watt combo with a 15" cab underneath. Needles to say, works for me. Occasional gigs are not out of the question but we're going to concentrate mostly on originals and streaming once in a while. Fun so far and good musicians. The band "dynamic" is a bit different from what I'm used to but it works. EVERYBODY weighs in on new songs whether they wrote them or not.

Biggie! Nice to see you haunting these hallways again. You do have quite the project going on. Sounds interesting as well as challenging. I wish you the best with this new endeavor.
So how are you liking the MB rig? It’s a different tone than your GK. Are you running straight into it or are you using pedals?

The MB sounds ok. I can tweak it. I don't use pedals or anything so it's just fingers...
Fingers...only way to play. Do ya think they’d let you bring the combo sometime just for fun? Might be interesting unless it doesn’t mesh with the sound they desire. I’d still try it!
Report from last night:
Yeller is not only an 8-string, it's also the first active bass I've plugged into the D4. Surprise, surprise, full bass volume going into an unpadded input, with the input volume maxed causes serious clipping. Switching the input to the middle setting, and dialing back the input volume still left enough roar out of the amp to get complaints from Lexi, and I can dial in just a bit of growl at impending clip.
In short, it sounds titanic! How can something so small sound like that? It's a gol-durn miracle of modern technoligy.
Playing Yeller showed me how much more I need to up my string-muting game, and then going back to Silver with those flats showed how buttery this amp can sound.
Magnificent little amp. Won't hang with a rock drummer, but I can fully back an acoustic guitar, or even an all acoustic bluegrass combo.
After having the GK Legacy 112 combo for awhile now, I can give a short review. Modern, typical GK here. The RB lives in this amp. The MB series is nice, but this is more along the lines the the RB series for sure. Classic GK tone. Slappers will love this amp, that’s really not my thing. The amp can be clean and with a little bit of the the OD added sounds really nice. 400 watts in this 32 pound beast, it’s loud. I’m really liking it a lot. GK is supposedly coming out soon with matching extension cabs. I don’t need one, but I’ll probably get one to maximize the 800 watts available. Lol

Congrats on your new Studio 40! I've had mine a while now, but still like a "kid in a candy store" every time I crank it up! And the grain on that G&L is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks. I honestly wasn't thrilled with it. It is nice but the 3 pieces aren't matched up well and the bass side is a different tone. It plays really nice though. It's a Tribute so for $499 I can't really complain! I really like the JB2 shape.
