Looks like a good day to be playing bass
Now five days out of surgery that addresses osteoarthritis in my right foot, feeling recovered enough to plunk the magic twanger today.

Glad you're getting back in action! I've got hernia surgery next week... should be able to play relatively soon after, but no heavy lifting for a few weeks. Just finished CL ad for temporary roadie!

Yes...some of us have difficulty breathing, some of us have difficulty walking but, we can still play bass. That is what makes us who we are, IMHO...
Love the sentiment, SR! Those types of thoughts are what keeps this human race of ours moving in the right direction.

I was going to write something unique and insightful here. Then the pain meds kicked in so you get this
A reserve of spacebucks that may very well have been turned around in a new combo amp, maybe a new amp head, who knows? is now
That's the image of my ring that was emailed to me on the eve of surgery a week ago. I commissioned the ring five years in Italy after conferring with the jeweler with my intent for the piece. By January it became clear to me the ring's original purpose was served. It's then began talks to return to Italy on a greater journey (still pending
) and have the ring modified to reflect this new journey. (Which you may properly imagine includes a bass.)
Took the ring off to send to my friend who was on her way to exactly that place in Italy when the CV doors slammed shut. From there it's traveled in her care to several sacred sites, and arrived at the jeweler's just over a week ago. My friend made her way back from Italy to England, and is carrying the ring until we are both in the same country
It'll be safe too post then ....
The work on the original ring is preserved on its underside, where there are two glyphs in raised .925 sterling. Each glyph is connected to the two aquamarine gems.
You'll know me when you see me, but I expect you would. It's a good gig, I reckon.

The Corona Orchestra’s latest song, Goldeneye, will be out on Saturday, minus the lefty Iowan. I failed to get it recorded last month, partially because I just wasn’t into playing it. This month’s tune, though, Celebration, by Kool and the Gang, will be played with zest yours truly.
I’m planning on wrapping up the Orange’s residence with that song before heading to PJB-land for some D4 action. I’ve got two tons of worship tunes to be going through as I’m over a month behind with my Ohio ensemble.

Speaking of Ohio, my buddy, the Rev, announced last weekend Gg he’s planning a giant reunion of his old group in Columbus with his new three-piece Americana group, and to bringing me east to throw everyone off, virus-pending of course. Thinking of that just might get through this school year!
Okay, I’m turning the catch up soap box over. I’ve missed you all something fierce and am trying to keep abreast of your posts. So tell us what you’re up to and the equipment you’re using to make the world nicer sounding.

Still working with the new semi-originals group. Love the tunes we're coming up with and I'll share some here when we get a decent recording made. Still NOT enamored of the MarkBass combo that is provided. Can't seem to get a sound I like no matter what I do with the VFR, VHS, LSD...whatever those freaking knobs are. Keyboard player that occasionally transgresses into my frequencies with his left hand made the mistake of saying something about not being able to hear the bass. That little combo now faces him in the studio.

Hi all... glad to see people doing fairly well (for the most part) and recovering (or on that road).
Nothing much to report, except that the Peavey combo still sounds good, I finally got some music online that I'm actually happy with, and, my boss is kinda terrible.

Bigs, I had trouble even remembering which the two tonal knobs were which, VLE...VPF...***??? I did like the idea of ignoring the four-band EQ though and utilizing those two.
Yet, after giving my rig a solid run, I was left underwhelmed. Without a pedal to add some tonal flava, I thought the sound was boring, and I’m not boring, dang it! So I sold my combo and ext speaker and went back home to Ampeg. Like it or not, I sound like me through their stuff. Now my ears are finding they like a more Orangey flavor. Who’d a thunk it?
Four words for ya Bigs: BRING ON THE BEAST! Show up some rehearsal with the GK and tell the drummer he’ll need to sign a waiver before you begin that you can’t be sued if he combusts into flames after a song or two...
I concur with FL. Take your own rig. It's part of your tone and it will make you happier to use it. That will make everything else better!
Well, I got a small cut precisely on the tip of my left index finger, so practicing was out for a few days (hazards of being a mechanic). That’s healed up, so back to playing everything fun. Worked on some AC/DC, then got into playing Blink 182. Large difference in speed and dexterity, there...
In the meantime, still awaiting surgery for my right hand, but I’m a mechanic, so I can’t really take it easy until then. This has made my thumb and hand rather angry and is widely regarded as a bad decision...
(1,000 Schmackeroons to the first person to recognize the literary reference in my post, cause I’m a witty guy.)
Other than that, peachy!
Here's my GK MB 212 strategically placed at the foot of my bed so I can feel every note when I practice. And yes: plenty power for gigs. At 40 pounds, it makes things easy. Sure - I'll take a number!
