Well I played the Bugera and Fender again. For the life of me I could not EQ the Rumble to make it sound as clear as the Bugera. I believe the Aluminum speaker has something to do with it. Not knocking the Rumble at all, I'm kind of a fanboy of the Rumbles. I just think that the Bugera sounds better with my downtuned P bass (D standard tuning). With my E standard P Bass the Rumble and Bugera both sound great with the Rumble giving off a more vintage tone than the Bugera. The Bugera is more zingy, snappier, and clearer. @68Tele-Bass, you can order the Bugera through either GC,MF or Sweetwater and if you are not satisfied, you can return the amp. They should send you a return label. I've owned the Bugera BXD15a on 3 different occasions and the BXD12a once. All the amps sounded great and never failed me. I got rid of them due to experimenting with different amps at the time. I've now circled back to the Bugera and really like what I'm hearing with this combo. The Bugera does have its flaws (it's heavy, but manageable and it has carpet instead of tolex) but for me these minor flaws are worth it.

To (sort of) echo @JakobT, 'Flat" on a rumble is approximately B-10, LM-2, HM-2, Tr-10[o'clock]. I also usually run "gain" at 9 or less. The Rumble WIKI page lists "flat" more accurately. These are the first bass amps I've owned(3)that I hafta turn bass down from center.

Totally agree with the EQ setting on the Rumble. With the bass at noon it is too much. I run my Rumbles with this EQ all the time.

Great points, GP, especially the turning down of the bass. These Rumbles are the first combos in my history of playing bass where I turn down both lows AND low-mids. It’s the only way I can reach a bass tone that’s pleasant to me ears.

On the opposite side, with any of my Markbass amps I rarely if ever even touched any of the tone controls. Their novel VLE and VPF controls, yes, but never needed to alter the tone controls.

What’s it mean? I have no idea.

Aaarrggghhh!!! MF wouldn’t match the $329 Sweetwater price on the Bugera BXD15A because it’s on backorder until mid-late March. I’m ok with that! I put in a pre order with Sweetwater, and I guess I can spend my loyalty bucks at MF on something else-

Either way- $329 for that amp seems a pretty solid deal - they’ll call when they’re in, and I can make the descision then.
That’s where I’m at right now!

Somewhat new combo for me... Musicians Friend has a stupid deal of the day for new, not b-stock, Markbass Jeff Berlin combos back in November for $749.00 so I snagged one! It is surprisingly larger than I expected, but great none the less! Here it is with my OG an old TKO 75, and a GR 2x8 bass cab that I have been running with a Quilter Interbass... the odd man out in my stable. I believe the Peavey weighs as much as the other two combined!

Somewhat new combo for me... Musicians Friend has a stupid deal of the day for new, not b-stock, Markbass Jeff Berlin combos back in November for $749.00 so I snagged one! It is surprisingly larger than I expected, but great none the less! Here it is with my OG an old TKO 75, and a GR 2x8 bass cab that I have been running with a Quilter Interbass... the odd man out in my stable. I believe the Peavey weighs as much as the other two combined!

Oh yeah I was seriously surprised with what a large combo the MB Jeff Berlin is. A big cube! My sighting only Real Life ™ sighting was on a visit to the local youth music school.

$329 is a great deal on the Bugera. You won't regret it!

'68, believe me, you have a lot more patience than I do. I don't care if that thing was gold-plated, if I was hunting for a combo and was told it was would be late March, I'd dropkick that baby to Toledo. Hmm...maybe that's my problem!

He did say he had around $40 bucks in MF credit or something like that. He could use that towards the amp.
