I've had the bass awhile now and I suppose I'm over the "honeymoon" period.
I still like it! Still plays nice, hasn't exploded in my hands sending shrapnel of wood flying into my internals, so that's a good sign...right?
Seriously, I play it about as much as my USA Jazz (which is surprising, because I LOVE that bass, its so hawt).
Anyways, buy a krappy, you won't be disappointed!

Yeah, he definitely should have gone with something more unique and less mundane, like a P bass.
So that was an "ugly bass post"...check the FAQ, that's not allowed here.
Besides beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
You might want to rethink the P then. Just sayin.

does krappy do full size bodies? and pickups that you want or are they all those cheap emg looking ones? slap a chrome cover on there and im set though. . .

AFAIK, Kevin would gladly put in whatever pickups and/or hardware you would care to supply him.

I think Kevin can build pretty much whatever you'd like. I ordered a custom bass from him that's on his website as his Traveler model, then I ordered a custom version of that. No problems with either.
I've been in touch with Kevin about a potential fanned-fretless 5 string, since I can't afford a custom Dingwall right now.
Anyone on here own a fanned fret from Krappy? I'm used to it with my Dingwall ABZ, and really want an unlined version, and I also want a Super P, so I figure I'll kill two birds with one stone and go with 35-32" fanned scale, single pickup in the P position, passive, maple neck/fingerboard.
I haven't sent him my final specs because I'm afraid it'll be too affordable and I'll have to find some way to actually order it!

I left the Little DragonWing with my luthier while I went on vacation. Fren installed a new bone nut, and basically tweaked the frets a bit. While it plays quite nicely now, it requires some significant adjustment to my technique, especially with respect to muting strings. It's a one trick pony but I really like the trick. For those who wanted to know what it sounds like, and some new pictures too, you can go here.
