They are only going up in price. Which one do you have? If you say "internal power supply" it sounds like fixed cord Arp model? Those are really highly sought after as they were Jerry Garcia's #1. I would keep it.
Yes on the fixed cord - dunno about the ARP part - did ARP the synth company make those? I bought it around 1980, new I think?
ARP bought Musitronics in the mid-to-late 1970s (I think this is when it was - a little help?). The MuTron with the fixed cord was made by them. Same circuits and parts as the earlier one (they do benefit from a calibration admittedly to be exactly like the Musitronics ones). No less desirable or collectable.

Oh don't be that way - these Mu-Trons NEED to be played. And they deserve to be played.
I would say - pull it out and plug it it - if it doesn't have you making stupid funk face in 30 seconds or less, then consider selling it. Might be worth having it calibrated by Richard before you do though. They go for much bigger money with the Lingenberg stamp of approval.
Clarification - by "play" I meant "gig" - or even haul around to rehearsals. It's fun to mess about with this stuff once in a while at home but I just don't feel the need to bring more than a pedal tuner - and if it happens to have other functionality that's cool too
. I'm pretty happy with my new B1on or even with my old 506II . I really did start bringing the 506II just for its tuner (which works well).

They are admittedly a pain in the butt to gig with. That's why I've ended up investing so much in Johnk's Mutron clones as those are much easier for live situations.
The Mu-Trons are fun for home and jams and places where space and AC current is easy.
Although I did gig for a few years in London with just a Mu-Tron, a Phase 90 and an Analogman Juicer (Orange Squeezer) with an SVT/810 setup.
Actually speaking of that - I will probably have an extra Johnk Mutron pedal in the near future if anyone is interested. I ordered a new one with top jacks so I will have either the little green one or the bigger one available.
What is it that or what part of my Mu-Tron is it that lets me use it as just a gain/boost? I love turning it on but not triggering the effect. It really sounds so good as a boost. Does the pedal being analog have anything to do with it? Someone school me please.
Also I wonder if I could have a very small one button one knob boost made that captures this sound from my Mu-Tron. Is there already something out?

Hi, looking for some help. I have a Mu-tron Phasor I that no longer functions. I'm looking for a reputable repair service. I've put out a few emails (including to Lingenberg Sound), but not getting any replies. Do any of you have a preferred repair service?

I've been lucky I guess every time I've called Richard he's answered the phone. I found his name and number on Google. He quoted me a price over the phone and I shoved his money in the battery compartment of my Mu-Tron and shipped it to him. A few weeks later bam! It was back to me via mail and I couldn't be happier.
