I just started, but I already have a "collection" of three basses.
1.) Kala UBass in Bamboo
2.) cheapo acoustic from Amazon (which actually sounds amazing with flatwounds. I put note name stickers on that one, because I'm a noob
3.) 2002 Squier P-Bass. (There's a story behind that one).

As I now play quasi only 5 strings, I'm reluctantly starting to let my 4 strings go...
So I sold my acoustic Tanglewood
And bought an Ortega ...

Alright, it's been a while, here's some photos of my current basses owning:
These 3 have in common that they're all parts-basses and they all let parts of the wood grain show. Left & right are Swamp/Ash and the middle one is Pine
The Jazz Basses trio: left one is a Squier Classic Vibe 60s onto which I swapped the pickguard and added a brass stripe for bridge pickup cavity grounding, equipped with flats — center one is a parts-bass with a Squier Classic Vibe 70s bass body and a Fender Modern Player one-piece quarter-sawn maple neck, equipped with stainless steel rounds — right one is a barn-pine body made by PlingPloing from Austria (burnt surface, natural earth pigment, shellac&waxed) with '97 Squier ceramic pickups that sound very open/modern/active (the bridge pickup position should have been 70s but it got extra 70s by being even closer to the bridge
) the neck is a Fender Modern Player rosewood, which looks very dark! And this one has tapewound strings.
I call them the Twins. Both are parts-basses. The goal was to replicate a mid to late '59 White Blonde Precision with an early rosewood fingerboard and a late 70s stripped-down Walnut Precision Bass that I saw in a pawn shop in 2018-2019 but couldn't buy (it wasn't really high-priced but I just didn't have the money).
Walnut one is a one-piece swamp ash body with I believe a old 70s pickguard with the right holes pattern and a chip near the jack-plug, Squier Ceramic pickup (I love it! Sue me.), and a Squier Matt Freeman two-piece maple neck. She has stainless steel strings.
White Blonde sister is composed with a FIVE-piece ash body from 1986 (Squier SQ series) that original was in Fiesta Red, that I bought in an awful condition. Fender '63 Pure Vintage pickup, Fender '57 gold anodised pickup that I lacquered to make like a '58 (couldn't find one to buy), and a Squier CV 60 Precision rosewood neck. This one's got Chrome flatwounds.
Got three Js, gotta have three Ps. This is the one I call the "sweetener". I bet you'll get why. Another parts-bass. Squier Affinity "Metallic Red" maple body (wonder why it isn't called "Candy Apple Red"...), some gold accents, Squier Ceramic pickup with pole pieces that look like it is AlNiCo (but it's not!), Stratocaster knobs (reversed tone and volume), paired with a delicious looking Squier CV 70s Precision quarter-sawn one-piece maple neck that has the gold leaf decal and a rarely seen "zebra-looking" wood for the skunk stripe/trussrod nut cover. I wonder if that's Pau Ferro? Strings are 6 years old LaBella tapewounds. They stink. A lot.
To finish, this is an old photo of my first bass: a Cort GB34A that I gave a makeover back in 2015 by repainting it in nitrocellulosic metallic purple and by applying stickers from games and vinyl-records before the clear coat on top (didn't know what I was doing back then...
). It's sleeping in a bag, the frets are worn out. Might remove them someday. The rosewood on this one is truly amazing looking though. The active electronics are also fried.

A very tasty collection of basses! I particularly like the p twins and the jazz with the purple guard.
I don't think I've posted my new-ish roasted-pine AmProII Jazz V in this thread...
I like the tone of this bass, but it lacks a little oomph. Think I’ll put some SD Antiquities in it.

Well, I've sold the 1979 Roadster, and kind of felt I was going to go ahead with just two basses. Thing is yesterday I decided against just keeping two, and got me another one. For a fraction of the Ibanez' cost, mind you. You can see it down in the middle. It's a nice headless (my very first one) that was made by Terra Avstralis Guitars, far down in Santiago de Chile, in South America. You can have a look at the guitars and basses they create at tavstralis.com or their FB page. So far I am loving it, and next week I will be installing a set of Entwistle Jazz bass pickups instead the stock ones.

Elrick Expat NJS-5 fretless. I’v been really struck by these Elrick Expats. The tone is very “boutique”. Extremely clear and punchy.
This Expat NJS-4 inspired me to get the fretless 5. The build quality on these Czech made NJS’s in fantastic.
My work in progress. Black pickguard is badass compared to the white. Aguilar pickup, john east controls on the way and shoe polish "tinted" neck so the white maple doesnt blind me anymore!

Was the maple neck 'bare' wood? If even a slight sheen, shoe-polish will only sit on the surface and eventually rub off. To darken the maple, you would need to sand any clear-coating off first before darkening (however you choose to do that).
I’d like to share my modded MIJ Geddy Lee.
Although can’t say it’s really a Geddy Lee anymore.
Came loaded with Dimarzio Ultra J’s.
Just had a fret level done, and had a hand wired stack knob harness installed.
And I replaced the BadAss bridge with a vintage style Fender bridge.
It’s now my main player out of my 4.

Picked up this Special edition Gretch Jr Jet. The idea is it will be easier to play when my arthritis acts up. Man what a nice bass for the money! I might change out the pots and tone cap though. Man is it ever bright!!!
