I tried doing a shelfie with my two basses in a pseudo yin.yang, but neither would fit in the upper shelf. So I did some poor photo editing.
I'm liking the Kingfisher better, at least playing it, but it's odd the Squier's single coils have significantly more output.

This model Kingfisher has dummy coils in the humbuckers. You can use a piece of metal to see which row is actually active. They are even wired to reduce noise. My Kingfisher is my #1, but it needed new electronics to get there.

And a Squier J, in black, love it.
Yours looks exceptionally cool. I'm debating if I like it enough to spend more on it and am leaning towards "yes." It's a little surprising that PRS went that route with the electronics, given the impressive materials, including the Hipshot hardware.
Thanks! And yes. When I sat them next to each other the contrasting light and dark bodies and necks struck me.
That's the first instrument in black I've owned. Also the first with a maple fretboard.
I ordered a maple J neck/fretboard for my cheap P bass, since the P neck is too thick & chunky for my liking.
Curious to see it fits and how it plays.
Even my 1970's Japanese J bass has a neck that's more P than J (41 mm nut instead of a 38mm.)
That'll be interesting; I hope it works out. I think the VM77's neck is very nice, but I'm new to basses.
Well, it's a cheap (€80) Harley Benton P-bass, and a Chinese J-neck (€50).
Since both of these are Chinese, and general measurements seems to fit, I hope so.
I customised the HB P-bass, gave it a paintjob, changed the pickups and hardware & tuners, but still, that neck's a bit too much of a baseball bat to my hands.
So, if it doesn't fit, I'll look around for something different.

I absolutely love the Duncan ‘60s pride. I have 3 now and all are incredible. I did just go against my better judgement and bought a SPB 2 “Hot”

Still need to cut the headstock and change the black hardware to chrome but I like the maple neck. Blonde on blonde is cool, I think.

I'd keep the black hardware, but that's my opinion.

And you should get a Black PG too, imo.
My choice would be to add black tuners, keep the existing black hardware on the body...and skip the PG.

It looks WAY better with no PG.
I usually don't like natural finish, but this body wood is really cool.
It looks like some nicer examples of Joe Dart Music Man. I Wouldn't put a pickguard on it, nor change the black hardware, It is so cool as it is now.
Being a traditional sorta guy, I’m surprised to find myself recommending the following.
Black tuners, keep the black hardware, and go black or black pearl PG. A cool original black decal will complete the look.
This is the direction I'm headed.
