I've only ever seen one of those in person and it was a guitar. I remember it sounding thin, I have no idea what the bass would sound like.

No, grabbed it off the interweb cause your pic didn't work. I worked for a small music store and the owner had a guitar by them. I think he sold it quite a while ago.
I finally got the pic of my AA six string up on that post, you should be able to see it now

Here is my Michael Kelly that started life as a four string bass. Converted by Terry's Baris.
my latest acquisition.. Hofner Ignition Club bass with the second photo showing some modifications I did (swapped out the round wound strings for Labella black tapewounds, and replaced the black volume knobs with Teacups
