I switched it up a bit this week, by adding a 2016 D'Angelico EX-Bass to the mix.

More or less full hollow-body, other than a large block under the bridge to support the stop bar tailpiece and oversized tuneomatic bridge. Medium scale (32.5") with a well-worn set of heavy-gauge D'Addario XL nickel rounds. The pickups are Hofner-esque humbuckers.

So my fleet now looks like this:

Dingwall ABZ-5

Ibanez EHB1005SMS

Guild Jumbo Junior

D'Angelico EX-Bass

Hofner Ignition Club, Wilkinson Tuners and Zero-glide zero fret nut

The Dingwall and the Guild are keepers.

It's too early to tell yet, but I think the D'Angelico might be as well.

The Ibanez and the Hofner are probably on their way out. Even 3 basses tends to feel like one too many to me...

This kept me busy all morning.

Gave it a new pickguard and got me thinking about swapping the neck for a Maple fingerboard.

Edit: Or Roasted Maple!!!

The Babicz bridge I ordered for this one was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but it’s out for delivery today— however, the anodized guard arrived.. my cat’s super stoked on it lol
