Congrats! What did Pete do to it?

Would be the best guy to describe what he did - but it basically was a complete polyester refinish, new preamp, new ramp, new nut, custom wood knobs, etc. In Matt's words - this is a brand new exotic custom without a swirl in the finish.

That's the extent of what I know. The white wenge fretboard was the kicker for Pete with regard to his advice on which instrument to buy considering the groups with which I'll be playing this bass.

Yeah.. I love my white wenge fingerboard on my mahogany bodied Skjold.

Pete gave me some excellent advice as to which instrument to buy for both playing style and venue...which pretty much made my decision.
Yeah, he's good at that. This is the "free bonus" we all get for having a great luthier that's also a very accomplished player. Can't beat that.

If it is a early Skjold prototype 5,........Yes.I just picked this up in trade and, after a well deserved setup, it rocks:bassist: !I think we may have a keeper here!:hyper:
Ok, you just answered my questions... yeah, I've gigged with that bass, and it's KILLER. I've played a few of his early EMG-based prototypes, and that one was, by far, my favorite. ENDLESS sustain!!! Yeah, that one is a keeper.

OK, I'll play. Here's the topwood on my upcoming Skjold Custom 5:

Oh, yeah... this will be a sweet one.

Here's the Pro 6 I already own:

Absolutely KILLER bass!

Pete's da man. Right up there with Nordstrand, Tobias, etc. in my book.
