The Soundgear Club

Vercoolname - I wouldnt worry about that SR500SM it's just a blemished inst prob still factory new but cannot be sold as "new" due to any number of usually small finish blemishes, if there was anything more serious wrong with it, it would have been scrapped.

Egil94 - first off I dont think the bass is a fake, but someone certainly altered the serial number for some reason (maybe it was stolen and the seller is covering that by making the serial untraceable?) and unfortunately you did pay too much. post a question with the picture about why your serial is weird on Invalid Link Removed An Ibanez Employee is usually on the forum and maybe able to help you. either way ENJOY YOUR BASS AND PLAY THE F**K OUT OF IT, don't feel bad!

Thinking about jumping on this auction and buying my first Soundgear. :bassist: Looks pretty nice (never seen one spalted before):

No bids as of yet (starting at $550+$25 shipping), and the auction ends in about five days. I'll wait a bit before jumping on it.

**Ask them why the sticker is there. The ser# is right under it. Looks like a fine bass. Looks legit, stamped USED, but it should be fine. Sweet looking 500. Love the Spalted Maple!!**

The sticker might be a store's stock number for inventory purposes...BEFORE purchase i would definitely ask to see the covered serial #, and if they refuse, then pass on it.

**AGREED 100%**

Ok, thanks :)

OMG
I really hope that it is not a fake, I paid $ 1,371.79 for it :hmm:

the SRX695: Not a fake. Maybe you paid a 'lil too much, IMO, around $600 is more like it.
Again... here is the Ibanez serial # link...

Good luck, looks like a nice player.

For current market value.
Not too sure how accurate it is, but I like what the CMV is on my SR905. :D

The SRX695 is mine, and definitely not fake (purchased new from an authorized dealer for a good price w/case)...his possibly spurious SR is a 1205FL...

Thanks :) Nice basses :)
Here is the serial number, if anyone could date it?

Ahhh, got it Sir Maestrovert. I had gotten turned around somewhere.;) It happens alot here with pics being quoted and re-posted.:p

Hey all... Check out my 1st 5er. I think I sold it due to lack of experience w/a 5-string and the tight spacing. Well, now I'm adept with 5ers and can only WISH I had this again! UGH!! :crying:

Nice!! One of my all-time favorite Ibby 5ers. I've been looking for one of these for the past 3 months.

I used to own a '92 SR1305 which I regret selling....great bass

My recently acquired SR300M got a new friend last night.

I hadn't had an amp in quite a while, but once I pickup up an active bass I felt it was time, plus I still had a little cash left in my coffer. (Basically this post is just an excuse to put up another picture of the bass.:))

You guys can add me to the club with my Ibby SR525 - I'm thinking it's rare because I found very little info on it after I purchased it used. It's basically a SR505 but painted completely black. She was beaten fairly bad by the previous owner, but now has a good home with me playing in a metal band.

I had an older Ibby SR405 back in the late 90s that I missed and once I recently switching back to bass after playing guitar for the last 10 years, I needed another Ibby. I've tried out a lot of basses lately as I'm looking to get a 2nd 5 string, but still love Ibanez so I'm thinking of getting a SR505 now...

Has anyone ever counterfeited an Ibanez? That would surprise me. They are wonderful basses, but resale value is not very high, and it would likely cost as much to build one as buy the real thing.

Well iirc someone living in Indonesia posted a couple of years back than in fact over there the market is flooded with fake Ibbys, so... :)

@xhawk5 : bummer, bro, I think that was a limited edition SR...

I tried searching and couldn't find anything.
What is the US Bart replacement for the MK1's? Is it the MK5CBC HERE?
Would the BC5CBC work? LINK
They're both Classic Bass Series, Dual Coil Humbuckers. So are they the same, just a slightly different size?
Does anyone think it's worth the money and effort to switch? Has anyone done it and can you provide some feedback.
Thanks alot, appreciate it!
