Some manufactures use mineral oil. I used to use lemon oil and switched about 4 months ago to Orange oil seems to be a popular choice. I clean my fretboard every time I change my strings (about every 1.5 to 2 months) so it is always pretty clean. For my friends basses I work on I use Feed and Wax. Because they change their strings a lot less frequently it really keeps the wood oiled and makes it easier to clean down the road.

Most people recommend against using petroleum based stuff. though if you clean your fretboard regularly it shouldn't matter too much.

Here's my 2006 Ibanez SR305
My first 5 string :)

I decided to experiment with some lights today. Nothing permanent yet, just seeing how it would look
They are pointed backwards to light up whatever is behind it.

You did a really nice job of putting them on there temporarily - looks permanent.

The lights and the bass are both nice but they don't seem to go together. The silver is very classy, and the body on that bass is in great shape. The lights are mod - they harken the look of cars with wagon wheels and glow rings on the ground. They belong on a bass with tape on the front and stickers.

By the way, can anyone tell me what the difference is in a 300 series and a 400 series? They look very similar in GC.

blue would probably match the silver much better, but seeing as I only had green ones on hand I used those. I totally agree with you though, imagine a black fender with stickers and tape with red LEDS.
