Hi, guys. I got a Squier Mini P about a month ago and I had a question about it. I didn't want to hijack anybody's post in this thread so I created a new thread entirely, but 24 hours later nobody's answered it. I don't want to cross post (everybody hates that!); could some of you Mini P owners take a look and offer opinions? Thanks. Here's the thread:

So an update on my Squier Mini. I have gotten very used to it and started to take it to practice two weeks ago. I then used it for a gig at a seniors residence this past weekend for Fathers Day. I'm liking it a lot.
My band just got our biggest gig ever. We've been asked to provide a virtual performance for a large online Canada Day concert. As none of the municipalities in the region will be holding a live event, they have all banded together to do one large online concert for the whole region. I've decided to use the Squier mini for the gig and will post the video after the event is over. We have permission from the township to use a local historical site for the performance and we shot a photo there this weekend. Here's the pic.

We have a ton of fun indeed. We're a classic rock band, but we also have an acoustic side. Last summer we did free concerts for neighborhoods and small events using just the cajon, a couple of Fishman minis for the guitars and vocals, a Roland Cube Street for my vocals and a small bass amp. That's the type of performance we want to try to replicate for this event - almost a busker type feel.
There are some really, really good bands playing. We're just a local cover band and honored to have been booked for it.

Yes, the few of us who have had a gig these days should share how it felt playing out, no matter what bass that they played.

But that said, did you bring a 2nd bass in case you decided against the Mini-P, and if so, which bass, and did you end up playing it for part of the gig ?

It went great! The organizers had a bit of trouble getting the live feed up on Facebook, but were able to do so a bit late. Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements with the headline acts they could only play it as a live feed and not leave it up there for people to watch later.
We are a bilingual region and most of the acts were in French, as was most of the show. But there was some amazingly great performances. It was a 3 hour show and they played our segment, which we recorded two weeks ago, about 45 minutes in. I may be able to share our clip next week and if so, I'll post it here.
In the meantime, here are some photo clips from the video and a larger shot of us playing taken at the site from further back.

It went great! The organizers had a bit of trouble getting the live feed up on Facebook, but were able to do so a bit late. Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements with the headline acts they could only play it as a live feed and not leave it up there for people to watch later.
We are a bilingual region and most of the acts were in French, as was most of the show. But there was some amazingly great performances. It was a 3 hour show and they played our segment, which we recorded two weeks ago, about 45 minutes in. I may be able to share our clip next week and if so, I'll post it here.

The French commentary in between the acts was difficult for me to follow - but the show was well put together.

There has been a lot of controversy here regarding Canada Day due to the recent discoveries of unmarked graves at First Nation residential schools, which has horrified us and all Canadians. On Canada Day, as a band, we made a donation from our pay for this gig to one of the First Nation groups which help survivors of residential schools. We asked our followers to make a donation as well.
There were calls for bands to not play on Canada Day, but we felt a donation would do more good. A lot of people who watched the show were seniors and other people who have been in lockdown for a long time. We felt it was important for those people to be able to celebrate.

Your group's segment was recorded live on location two weeks prior [like many TV programs are], saved into a computer video file, maybe an MP4, then assembled with those of the other performers, and streamed on Canada Day ?

One advantage of doing that is that you can choose a day with good weather.

Was any audience at all present for the recording, even a few ?

Have you considered uploading your clip to YouTube ?

I have done that with a few clips of live bands' concerts which I have attended, taken with my digital camera, and had decent results, subject to the camera's limitations and whether I had to try to hide it while shooting.

All a person needs is to set up Google account, and I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that one of you already may have an account.

Then just post a link.

I think you made the right choice: people need an opportunity to celebrate, and making a donation will do more good than simply cancelling.

Yes, we recorded the video ourselves two weeks prior. All the videos had to be submitted a week in advance. The show was live and they introduced the clips. We did not have an audience, because at when we recorded it outside gatherings were limited to 5 people, which was us and the cameraperson.
I will be uploading our clip to YouTube. I'm just waiting to make sure the organizers have no issue with us posting it on our YouTube channel, as technically they own the video. I should hear back from them on Monday.

Once the sets are finalized, they will be made available via the LaBella site at Link Removed (if you're not familiar with the Roadie Club, this is where LaBella offers special runs or limited product sets - they offer variations on there tape wound bass strings here, although I've yet to grab a set, as they tend to go quickly).

Frustratingly, La Bella don't allow you to specify a non-US address for shipping. Pretty disappointing. Hope that changes soon. It would be courteous if they would acknowledge that it's US-only anywhere at all on the site or on their social media.

I clicked through and they are, though I don't know if they're willing to ship it or accept a non-US billing or shipping address that way (I didn't try buying).

Anyone's bridge seem to be in the wrong spot? My saddles are all the way to the front of the bridge - I can't advance a couple any more to get proper intonation. I measure the 28.5" to the topmost position of the saddles. All my other basses measure to the center of the saddle adjustment. It seems that the bridge might want to move about 1/2" towards the neck. I will try some different strings first, and then I think I will move it if it is not better.
