~P pickups are all hum canceling, yes, but they are not all shielded from electrostatic interference, as the EMG Geezer Butler pickups are.
60Hz cycle hum that single coil pickups suffers from, which stems from electromagnetic interference, that P pickups are not sensitive to, is NOT the same as electrostatic interference.
Why you will have a bridge ground wire, even in basses exclusively equipped with humbucker pickups, and ideally need to shield those basses too, the latter not necessary with the EMG Geezer Butler pickup.
I simply don't believe that by some magic your non shielded P Basses doesn't go more quiet when you touch the bridge and emits hum when you don't, which should be prove enough for you that what you say is not true.
Though of course it will still be a matter of personal priorities....
I think that we both speak truth, and I do understand the distinction, from my early formal education in electronics, during 1971 or so.
It's that IIRC, I have mainly run into EMI over my ensuing decades of playing [and managing the sound for nearly every band of which I have been a member], and not so much ESI.
Perhaps I have been lucky in that regard.
Getting rid of EMI is a worthwhile place to begin, especially if the player has other reasons to upgrade their pickup(s) anyway, and my last post speaks to that.
Beating ESI too would be a bonus, I reckon, but I personally would not make doing so a deal breaker in my own choice of pickups.
